Only use this site to visit Quenca which is well worth doing. Site is neglected and over priced but worse of all is we were unable to sit out side because of the flies ! Site roads are tight and confusing until you work it out.

Run down expensive for what it is.

We stayed in a tent for three nights in August 23. A few things to be aware of if you are thinking of staying. The site is large and is very lively until around midnight. Many of the plots have permanent tents and caravans, so on arrival it looks more like a town than a campsite. We were the only Brits there. The ground wasn't grass, but dusty, dry earth. We could get most of our pegs in. Things do quieten down around midnight and there was a slow start to the day for most people. Cuenca is amazing and a must to visit. We walked in and got a taxi back. We also enjoyed canoeing on the Rio Jucar. The on site shop is disappointing given the size of campsite and there aren't any shops nearby. Restaurant on site is good, but not sophisticated. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there over our stay. Pool is lively and is for playing not swimming. Some bits of equipment arent in great condition eg air hockey, table tennis table.

I couldn’t rate this site any lower, if I could I would.  The staff were casually friendly initially as we checked in, then all but disappeared. They advertise things that look great, but after paying 50% more here than several other far superior sites we expected far more.  When we explained that we didn’t appreciate the filth, the fact that the place looked like a deserted refugee camp, and did not appreciate graffiti in the washrooms, none of the facilities such as the bar/restaurant being closed, reception only open limited times, 6 amp electrics, no lighting in the dish washing facilities etc etc, we were greeted with hostility.

We didn’t even stay the 3rd night of our booking, and when left we explained we thought we had paid enough, to be told they “would claim it” anyway.  So we left thinking they were to debit our credit card, feeling most aggrieved. 

Then a few hundred metres down the road, in our getaway vehicle we were held up by a big guy in his van, from the camp, who was excessively aggressive pointing his finger into my wife’s face demanding the balance of payment.  It was very difficult to communicate with his menacing fierce anger, we were trapped, my wife scared, he said he was calling the police, I said thank goodness. 

His call was for backup, whereupon the receptionist and another guy arrived from the camp, whilst the anger was less, the threat was still there, and as far as we are concerned we had the insisted €50 balance stolen from us in cash, on the road side fearful they might resort to damaging our caravan, car or us.

Avoid at all costs.

We stayed here with a tent for 1 night whilst touring Spain by bicycle. Bit we wouldn't have minded some more nights! A good campsite with impeccable sanitary and, a big bonus, an excellent restaurant where we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Good food and very reasonable prices.

When we were there in May, there were very few people, probably because it was only the beginning of the season, however they put us all on the smallest green area - so it was totally crowded in the middle of an empty campsite. 
But the problem started, when we paid with Maestro. Unfortunately there was a problem with the payment machine and we were asked to do the payment procedure again, as they were not sure if the payment had worked the first time. The staff member assured us, that there would be no problem at all to refund the money immediately, if we get charged twice - that was back in May! We got charged twice and did not see our money ever again.
We got some rude responses to our e-mails and now they are not even answering anymore...
So in total the campsite is regular, staff is really unfriendely (almost rude) and it's far too expensive (especially if you pay double)!

If you don't have to go there - DON'T!

We have stayed on numerous sites in Europe over the last few years and we would rate this site as one of the best.  We stayed in September when the site was very quiet, which meant we have masses of room to ourselves and parked our motor home in the field at the top of the campsite overlooking the sunflowers. We intended to stay for 2 nights but stayed put for 5.  All the facilities and the restaurant are excellent and the staff were most welcoming.  The site is well placed for visiting Cuenca and the local areas and it's also great cycling country .

So many areas to walk around the campsite making it a joy to take the dogs.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean and tidy shower blocks and toilet.
The restaurant had a different menu of the day each day, but with big BBQ blocks situated around the campsite it was easy to make your own. Friendly visitors mainly Spanish made the whole experience very nice indeed.

Wonderfully Spacious

This is a nice, clean and conveniently located campsite about 7 km outside of Cuenca but also close to the Serrania de Cuenca park and the Devil's Window gorge (great views and possibility of watching Golden Eagles). The camp site was nearly empty when we were there for 2 nights in September. There is a swimming pool which interestingly has a notice saying 'beware of the dangerous dogs' on the gateway. There is a palatial shower/toilet block but for those going to the toilet in the early hours beware of the sprinkler system which will douse the unwary in water as I learnt at 4.30am one morning. There is an excellent restaurant which does very good food at very reasonable prices, the grilled Turbot was standout and very highly recommended.
