Location and view were great. Deluxe room was a bit disappointing. It needed some tlc and a thorough clean. Headboard, lamp, top of fridge were covered in dust, kitchen island, bottom of shower door needed cleaning as well as blinds especially ones near hot tub. This put us off using the hot tub which attracted us to the room in the first place. The bed side table was damaged and wallpaper was missing in places. I struggled with the toilet and shower door as they were heavy duty glass. The key had to be left outside of the room in order for the electricity to work. Hot tub was turned on from the mains. It just looked unsafe.  The balcony needed a tidy and the used shower sponge and half used toothpaste wasn’t very inviting. Not sure we’d stay again unless it was tidied up again. Free parking.

1. Bushes need to be trimmed as they were covering the English sign so we could not find the hotel upon arrival at night. 

Overall, this was a good place for my wife and I for a last minute trip to Sokcho.

good for last minute trip

Great trip to Sokcho and Seoraksan.  Esher House was nice.  Location right by the beach was fantastic.  The room was a bit dated, but had everything we needed, to include a small kitchen with cooking utensils.  The biggest drawback was that the doors between the kitchen area and the bedroom were missing, so everyone basically had to get up at the same time.  Overall, I'd stay here again.

Great Location

The family room is very spacious, really big. You even have a kitchen if you want to cook something. It was also very clean and luminous. The staff was kind and willing to help. The location is near the beach.The place is a little bit out of the city and as we came to visit the seoraksan natural park, it takes about 10 min to walk to the bus station. If you want to take the bus or buy something in the supermarket, you'll have to walk a little bit.
Also we were travelling during november so the weather was cold and the room was way too heated but as the heating was on the floor we couldn't change it. The air conditioning was just over the bed so when you turn it up it can become annoying.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay here and I hignly recommend this place.

Très bon séjour

Our room was the last one that night and thus overpriced. Paid about $130 for the room with two queen beds and partial view. Since it was raining I can't confirm the view. The room is big enough for a family of four r, Has basic kitchen supplies and a rice cooker. I didn't care for the blanket as I'm more of a cotton person. The blanket wasn't covered in duvet but it seems like they wash them. The room was over heated and I couldn't figure out how to lower the heat (didn't have a remote) and nobody was at the front desk at late hours. I didn't want to wake the family who runs the business. We were also stuck with a mosquito that kept me up all night. Obviously nobodies fault.

Two queen beds. Fitted for a family.

First, another case of magic of photos!  I was very disappointed of the quality of hotel, specially of its cleanness.  Bath tub was not same as shown in photo and orders around was horrible.  We were also told that we can not use the tub after certain hours!!  There were towels hangings as you enter the main entrance (not a good sign) and front office people must be sleeping in the office.  Pension employees tried to be nice but they were far from professional.  Pension must not change cover of duvet and pillow.  There were smell from a pillow and we had to put towel over the pillow and sleep.  I did request new pillow case and got it but it was unbelievable that they do not provide new cover for guests.

Beach front Pension

Stayed for 3 days with family of 4 (2 kids). Booked premium double which had a double decker bed (queen size) which fit my family perfectly. Location of the house was a stone's throw from Oengchi beach and around a quarter mile from Sokcho beach. The rooms were well maintained and clean. Had a great view of sunrise right from the terrace which is a plus with premium rooms only on top floor. On the downside, beds and pillows were not very comfortable and rooms had a cigarette smell initially. No complimentary breakfast as well. The previous owner Hana has moved on and now a new family is in charge. The manager speaks decent English. There is also a CU convenient store right in front from where we brought fire crackers among other stuff for daily needs. We had a car so it was easy to move around from this place (it is little away from town) . It might be difficult to get cabs from this place if you dont have one. There is a bus stop nearby but frequency of buses did not impress. Overall a pleasant stay and the location near beach unbeatable!!

Pleasant stay

Spacious room but a lot of mosquitoes.There is no friendly "Ms. Hana" like a lot of reviews here, the reception is a man, he can speak a little English and can't help you much on sigh seeing.The room is okey to stay but not as good as the reviews on this or tripavisor

Not good as I expected through reviews

The room is spacious and clean. However be careful with mosquito ^^.
Better to use Uber taxi or domestic Kakao Taxi, it's very hard to catch a taxi on the street.
Many review goes to the receptionist however it is not true. I stay there for four day but there is no one named hana and the receptionist there also not help much
