On the business side of Gwangju so far from downtown but near the subway to get in easily. It is a nice location and outside of all the hustle and bustle of the actual city. It is your typical budget hotel if you have seen them in Korea before. It is pretty standard.

Choose a non smoking room

I stayed at the Nox for 5 days while visiting my son. Let's start with the positives. The rooms are spacious and beds comfortable enough, there's a decent sized shower room, the price is reasonable, there is a large screen TV which has a mass of channels, most not in English. 
Location is a big bonus. It's about a 15 minute walk to the underground line, and if you want to get to the central bus station you take the 1000 bus which is cheaper than the 02, thou both get you there and from there you get to anywhere.
There are lots of nearby places to eat.
I booked breakfast but only took it twice. Make your own toast, grab a boiled egg, have a tiny coffee. There is no cutlery or anywhere to sit and eat, it's set in the entry hall, the reception staff are friendly but it's fairly dispiriting eating dry toast standing up in a hallway. So don't bother with it as there are plenty of nearby places to eat.
One other slight gripe, my room wasn't cleaned or any sheets or towels changed for the 5 days I stayed. I never figured if there was soap for the sink, so used some shower gel. 
The staff were friendly and helpful. It does seem more like a motel than a hotel, good for those with cars needing somewhere to stay in Gwangju. 

Good location, decent hotel, forget breakfast

The outside appearance looks more like a motel than a hotel. I would call this a hotel borderline motel. I did see one family there with children. Inside the room was clean and it looked like the bathroom had recently been remodelled. The bathroom provide combs, hair dryer, toothbrush and toothpaste. There was a selection of Isa Knox lotion and toner. A big tv with many free films to choose from. Although this might be quite hard to access the free films as the setting was all in Korean. Breakfast was simple, eggs, toast and jam. They provided it in the lobby so you had to bring the food up to your room (which we didn't mind). The only thing that I didn't like was that we asked for a non smoking room but it still smelt of smoke. But overall it was good with the price we paid. Staff were polite and friendly. 

Hotel ? Motel? 

At a first glance, I thought that this hotel is like other ordinary hotel. But when I stepped into my room, I was amazed by the facilities and amenities provided. There was a huge plasma TV with hundred of channels, fridge with bottles of mineral water inside, kettle, hair dryer and they even provided a computer with a high speed of internet connection! Complete set of toiletries were also provided; the shampoo, conditioner, shower bath, shaver cream, hair wax, and moisturiser! I like the bath robe and not forget to mention, the slippers as well. The only thing I dislike; there was no wardrobe in the room. Other than that, everything was awesome! 

Leave alone the facilities and amenities, the breakfast provided was great too but they served the breakfast at main entrance which was not so practical in my opinion. There were fresh fruits like apple and banana, milk, and bread with jam. They have a toaster and a coffee maker as well.

Overall, this hotel is highly recommended!
