Thabametsi is a really great farm stay for those wanting to just get out and relax for a long weekend. Along with all the farm animals its also really great for kids. Also thanks to the hosts who went out of their way to accommodate us with respect to special requirements.,

Break away from the city !

The friendly owner Ana made sure that our stay was comfortable and happy. We were moved to the Squirrel cottage when we found that the accommodation that we had booked was inappropriate for my 86 year old father. Our party of 4 adults and a small dog were exceedingly satisfied staying for four weekday nights at the cottage. The peace and calm was welcomed, refreshing us all. There were hikes and swimming for the energetic and a lovely sunny veranda with a great view for my Dad, who was not so energetic. The farm animals are adorable to interact with. Although I do believe that the member of the party that had the best time was Isla our dog who ran about the farm, loving every minute, enjoying the space and freedom. She quickly made friends with the two well socialised resident farm dogs and couldn't wait to get up in the mornings to begin her adventures. If you are looking for a happy, family, farm experience this is definitely the place.

Lovely and peaceful

It was a great way to bond and relax with my family. It catered for both the extrovert and introverted personalities we have. I truly enjoyed having my time and the rest of my family enjoyed exploring the place.

Family bonding

We stayed for only one night with our young daughter and Labrador. It's a family friendly place with a variety of farm animals and a great place to unwind! Also not too far to drive from Gauteng.
Will definitely recommend this for families with socialized dogs to consider as the friendly farm animals.

Magalies farm stay at Thbametsi

What a wonderful surprise!  Well equipped cottage, comfy beds and fluffy towels.  Excellent hosts took care of all we needed.  So much to do for children and adults alike.  Interacting with and feeding the farm animals was definitely a daily highight!  We'll definitely see you again soon, can highly recommend Thabametsi Farm.


Excellent stay!

We loved our quick family weekend away at Thabametsi. We stayed in the Squirrel's Nest which is a lovely, very spacious and super clean house. Being fairly secluded away from the rest of the farm also gave us privacy for much needed rest. Since we were there in winter with very cold nights, we appreciated having a fireplace, gas heaters in every room and electric blankets on every bed! 
The kids totally loved the activities on offer and seeing and interacting with the animals. 
The staff there is also very friendly and always willing to help
Thabametsi is such great value for money and would highly recommend it for families 

Amazing Place for Family Getaways

We really enjoyed our stay at Thabametsi Farm. The chalet had everything we needed for a relaxed, self-catering stay. Our 2 year old loved the animals and was able to watch as the chickens were let out early in the morning, pet the baby goats, interact with the horses which roamed freely around the farm in the early morning. The jungle gym provided much entertainment, and relaxing afternoons by the pool made it the perfect quick getaway. 

Fun on the farm

We loved the place, the rooms are big enough to accommodate family. There's lot of entertainments and the staff was very friendly. Thabemetsi its a beautiful place we love it. I can recommend it to other people.

What a place to be!

We had so much fun as a family. We were able to take our doggy with to enjoy the safe relaxing environment filled with beautiful surroundings. Kids had a Blas feeding the animals and doing horse and tractor rides. 

Fantastic family place

This is by far the best stay we've had in years.  It's our home away from home and we hope to return soon for an amazing experience. The staff made us feel welcome and right at home.  The units and facilities are clean and extremely well maintained. Thank you once again!
