You need to provide your guests with alternative power when Eskom load shedding hits. This was the biggest let down. Load shedding has become a norm and even in our homes we have alternative. One evening we had to have dinner very late coz we couldn't cook. Otherwise a very wonderful place. very quite indeed and very secure.

The parking was terrible.  Not  user friendly .  My furst impression was negative. Gates were not fully funcional Sraff  were not helpful...will not recommed    parking is very vital and must be user friendly.   Very cramped  . 

Parking facility

Uxolo is brilliantly located for easy access to many areas in Joburg.  The rooms are a good size, the beds superb and a chilled atmosphere.  There is a great pool area and good work space.  The only issue is load shedding and as a result loss of wifi.  

Central, super comfy and easy

When we travel or seek an escape, we want a place that we can feel comfortable in. A place we can laugh with the staff and have relatable conversations. Be free and just enjoy, that's exactly what we got and more. We loved the place and stay. Thnx

Home away from Home

Cons:
Driveway in a bad state of repair to narrow parking area
Guest welcome not professionally done - untrained staff and then rudeness toward us when we complained, put us off staying here
Went to look at rooms and found the carpets to be dirty and that we couldn't stay in an inter-leading room which we had booked.
We left i.e. did not stay at Uxolo Guest House, after a most unfortunate interaction with the owners, one in person and one over the phone.  We left.  I wanted a full refund for the above reasons.
To top it, while reconciling my bank accounts, I noticed that I had over-paid them through links that they sent me requesting payment.  Now, over a month later I am still liaising with Booking.com who is trying to assist me in getting the overpayment back.  I have emailed Uxolo Guest House three times, I have sent them whatsapp messages and I have tried calling them.  They have not replied to any of my attempts to contact them.  They have not taken my calls and they were evasive when my husband called them from his number which was uknown to them.  Be careful if you choose to book to stay here.

Most Unfortunate

Overall stay was poor.Hostess was friendly though.Shower rail and soap holder broken.Guests next door was loud and inconsiderate.The parking is a problem.There was no tea and the fridge was very noisy in the room.There was no bath even though it shows bath on website.

Pleasant stay at Uxolo Guest House. The staff was friendly.

There were a few minor problems;

1. Broken toilet seat
2. A plate of kebabs left in  the microwave (presumably from a past guest)
3. Microwave was not working.
4. No WIFI coverage in the suite.

Other than that, the room was lovely. Linen was clean, and the stay was pleasant.

Uxolo Guest House

Uxolo Guest House was perfect for my work visit, with free wi-fi, good security and excellent privacy in a quiet neighborhood. Norwood Mall is less than 10 minutes walk away. Grant Avenue (Norwood) restaurants and night life are less than 2km (a short Uber or Bolt ride) away. Excellent hospitality. I enjoyed my stay so much, that I extended my stay for a leisure mini-break. My preferred choice for my next visit.

Very friendly and extremely helpful staff . Nice large room with great protein breakfast and was personally welcomed by the owner that checked if everything was in order. Centrally located and safe environment 

Stay at Uxolo Guesthouse

This was my second time staying at Uxolo Lodge, this time with our family of five. We loved the comfortable and warm environment and the spacious accommodation. Some maintenance is needed for small things in the rooms but this does not interfere with your comfort level. The staff are receptive and friendly and will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. Breakfast is delicious! Laundry is done at a very reasonable price. This is not a fancy, glamorous hotel but rather a relaxed and clean home away from home.
