The hostess that received us was very friendly but unfortunately we expected a bit more for what we paid. All the websites listed the accommodation at R200 less than what we were charged and we felt that the room standard definitely did not meet the price charged per night.

Tad bit overpriced

Wonderful accommodation. Lovely breakfasts. Friendly and knowledgeable manager. Well priced for what you get. I enjoyed the visit very much, as did my friends. Would definitely stay here again. There is also a nice pool, but didn’t venture in. Lovely outside area.

Mountain View Guesthouse

Overall good budget accommodation. A very rustic environment. Owner was friendly, accommodating and welcoming. She allowed us to check out later than usual. Not too impressed with some pet hairs on the bed.

Good overnight stay over

From the moment when I phoned to make a booking Elizma (the owner) was very friendly and helpful. It was a business trip and a group of us stayed here. It was like staying at home. Rooms were spacious, clean and very neat. This guest house has a warm welcimng feel to it and if I ever have to pass through Graaff-Reinet again, this is the only place I will stay.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

You are probably doing the long drive from Joburg/the North down to the coast and are looking for a place to stay to break up the journey? Well - this place is a great option!

It's a relatively small town, but this place makes it feel homely. It was the start of our honeymoon and the team were nice enough to give us a bottle of champagne! Very generous and thoughtful.

My only minor issue was the exceptionally loud music from nearby... I am not sure if it was another room or outside of the property, but it was a bit annoying after 12 hours of driving.

Either way, nice place with a nice host - a good option!

Great hospitality

Typical older building with high ceilings and creaky wooden floors. The room we had was in the modern style with no doors to the toilet or shower area. No fridges in the rooms but there is a large fridge freezer in the lounge area to use. Breakfast was good and well presented.
Sadly, the pool is not easily accessible from the rooms, guests are asked to walk around the building and enter from the garden.
Secure, covered, off street parking.
