We have stayed here for the second time and were thrilled by the great hospitality of the hosts Trevor and June. The views from our balcony were breathtaking and we have enjoyed every moment of our stay. The breakfast is very good and leaves nothing to be desired. 
We will definitely come back again.

A wonderful home in Hout Bay

Such a pleasant stay! The view over the bay is breathtaking at anytime of day! And Trevor and June make this stay so wonderful. They serve  delicious breakfast, they are helpful in any way, make reservations for restaurants and give you advice for all your activities. it is truly a home away from home. Fortunately e stayed here for 4 nights, but in the end - only four nights.

Perfect stay!

We stayed at Amblewood Guest house for 3 nights last week and we did not want to go back home.  The views are stunning stunning stunning!  The hosts Trevor and June treat you like family. They are so warm and friendly.  The breakfast was deliciously home-made and ample to choose from. Amblewood is situated in a perfect part of Hout Bay, away from the hustle and bustle of Town but also not too far from the City and restaurants and only 5 mins away from the beach.  We will definitely be back soon!!

Excellent view with Excellent hosts

The stay at Amblewood was excellent and the location was very ideal to visiting nearby attractions such as Cape Town city etc. Trevor was very accommodating and it was an excellent stay ! Highly recommend! 

Most memorable stay ! 

We stayed there in February for one whole week. The hosts Trevor and June were fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay a most memorable. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants and even helped us with the booking. The guest house offers a most delightful view over the bay and we can only recommend to be there in the evenings to enjoy the sunsets. The room (Inglenook) was very spacious and the bed ( I am 2 m tall) was very comfortable. The breakfast is an absolute delicacy and doesn't leave any wishes open. - My wife and I will book again and we certainly recommend this place to all our friends and mates. - This is the place to be in Hout Bay and around Cape Town.

What a wonderful place

We always stay here, if they have a room, when we visit Cape Town. Trevor and June are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Max, their dog, is always there too wagging his tail!!  Delicious breakfast, in the garden when the weather permits.  So quiet and tranquil at the end of a no through road. Frankly there’s no where better in Hout Bay.

Amblewood wins again

My wife and I have just spent three days at this splendid guest house. Over many years we have travelled extensively in South Africa and stayed at numerous guest houses/b and b’s. Amblewood Guest House in Hout Bay is right up there with our favourite ones. The situation is superb and Trevor and June are wonderful hosts. They are most welcoming and could not do more to make their guests feel at home. Highly recommended.

Fantastic views over Hout Bay, lovely rooms and a fantastic breakfast and quietness - what's not to like!
This is why we keep coming back.
Its only 30 mins from the airport so ideal to start or finish your holiday off.
Already planning the next trip - see you in 2020 or even late 2019!

This was are 8th stay and still great

Trevor, June, and Max made our first visit to Cape Town one to remember.  A beautiful base to return to every evening with a welcome and a chat.  Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed seeing boss-eyed Max (the dog) who was ever happy.  The accommodation is on a hill but only 10 minutes on foot from Haut bay restaurants.  With a car, cape town, cape point and sights like table mountain are within easy reach.  Trevor (I think we called you Terry for some reason?  Oops!) was really helpful, giving us advice and insights to life in SA.  The staff were also polite and hard working, cleaning our room every day and setting up the sunloungers.  I could not recommend this Guest House more highly.  Thank you!
