The lady in charge here speaks a cryptic combination of German and English, which means a sentence can often take a few minutes to decipher with our combined GCSE German knowledge and the 3 English words that appeared throughout, but she is so friendly and helpful that this can happily be disregarded. We arrived in the middle of the night with no clue where we were and she appeared in the street to greet us with a smile and show us to our rooms. Honestly, if there had been a puddle at the front door I'm sure she would have lain down face-first in it just so that we didn't get our shoes wet. The place is a good 15 minute walk from Lake Bled, but it's a beautiful setting in itself, surrounded by mountains with a river a few hundred metres away. The rooms are comfortable and pleasant, with balconies looking out over the fantastic surrounding landscape. Breakfast was more than substantial, just remember that it's not included in the cost of the room. As long as you're happy with a bit of a walk to Lake Bled (which is the main attraction, for me) I'd strongly recommend this place.
