YOTEL Singapore Orchard Road

Overall great hotel! Everything was smooth with my stay. The hotel is super clean, the elevators were super fast, service was excellent, and the restaurant and pool very nice. Get a room with the city view, you won't regret it! The area is vibrant and convenient for everything you will need for your stay. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. There's an elevator located in the international building next door that will take you to the lobby floor. I didn't realize this and was forced to carry my heavy bag up some stairs at the main entrance on street level. I took the MRT from Changi, which took an hour and was super easy. However, I'd suggest taking the 36 bus as an alternative, as it's practically door-to-door, whereas there's a good 10 minute walk to the hotel from the MRT station. I took the bus back to Changi...plan for the ride to be a bit longer than the predicted hour, depending on time of day. You can use your credit card to "tap and go" on all public transport. I'd suggest getting the MRT tourist pass at the airport, which gives you unlimited rides for a flat fee for up to 5 days. Speaking of public transport, the bus stop is right outside the hotel and opposite the Thai Embassy, which was very convenient and cheap getting around town. I found it more convenient than the subway...although Google maps says the Orchard MRT is a 4 minute walk away, that's just the subway entrance. Depending on the line you're taking, it could add another 5-10 minutes just to get to the actual train...I also frequently got lost on my return. That being said, the subway may make more sense for some destinations and during rush hour. If you arrive early like me, there are plenty of things to do to kill a few hours. here are some suggestions: the cafe next door, Cafe de Muse, is open 24 hours...grab coffee/breakfast...it's bit pricey, but service and food were excellent. Get a foot massage, there are plenty in the area and one next door to the hotel. If you're in the mood for local food, try Al Madinah, which is open 24 hours and short bus ride away....try their roti prata!
