This property seriously needs renovation . The price is on the cheaper side but its not worth it. The rooms have a very murky smell and feeling. But the location is good and there are lot of eateries and a pharmacy just opposite to it.

Very old property

I chose Al-Barraq Hotel over other hotels in Taif because of the pinoy staff that works here notwithstanding the bad reviews about the hotel facilities. I arrived from Jeddah and had an early check in at around 10am yesterday. Ahmed, the receptionist on duty was very friendly and accommodating. I was assigned to Room No. 407 which is next to the elevator. The room was big enough complete with a double bed, LED TV, small fridge, working A/C, and spacious toilet and bathroom. Yes, the hotel may show its age but I cannot complaint coz it is well maintained. Later, I met John, the pioneer Filipino staff, and two other new staff - Jay and Edison who were both room boys. All of them where very warm and friendly and made me feel at home on my first day at the hotel and in Taif City. Today, they made up my room to my satisfaction and was surprised to experience the true Filipino Hospitality when Jay brought me a plate of home made spaghetti and maha blanco, a popular Filipino dessert. They all went out of their way to help me find a suitable accommodation for my next two years here in Taif. I am glad I chose Al-Barraq Hotel and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taif City.

Pinoy Staff Are Wonderful!

I booked a night in this so called hotel 3 days prior using a booking site. I was s searching for offers and sweet deals. The pictures they displayed for that hotel were acceptable but when we got there it was a whole other story. It was my wife my 4 months old baby boy and myself, check out the photos of this nightmare of a room. My wife and I were expecting something bad but what we found was worse. The A/C for starters was a window type, old, worn out, parts missing with a terrible scary loud noise. The fridge was ancient and there was no electric plug in the wall for it you had to plug it in socket inside the bathroom which was not practical, so i had to move it to the other corner where there was an electric socket.  The main door lock was terrible so old, cheap and unreliable it was something out of a history book it does not feel safe at all. The bathroom had no key at all the lock was not there to begin with it was removed, it was replaced by a slide lock from the inside the type you see in public bathrooms, in addition to that the drain was covered by a useless hollow drain cover like a broken drain grill. The design of the room and furniture was terrible beyond recognition we kept tripping from the pertruding part of the big bed cramped into a small room. There was no bell boy or any employee to help us with our bags. The entire room including the bed sheets were not clean enough. The entire hotel and room did not inspire cleanliness. I know i was going towards a cheap room but this was so bad in so many levels. I personally would not advise anyone to go to that hotel unless he really has no other choice. The location of this hotel was excellent it is located in a very busy street filled with restaurants and services it was in the middle of the wonderful city of Taif.
