My husband and I did the 4 day surf package, perfect vacation. Rincon and the surrounding area is stunning, only matched by the wonderful people. We came as beginner surfers and left much better surfers and completely addicted. Our instructor Nego was excellent - he was great fun, but also took our instruction and safety seriously. This is a special place on earth and we will be back. If you are looking for a vacation that makes you feel a million miles away with great ocean, food, people, drinks (and more fit than before your vacation!), this is your spot.

Fantastic vacation

Everthing was nice & clean.Office service was great.The surrounding were clean and everyone there were friendly. Happy to have stayed there money worth every penny. Nice clean pool also near the beach.

Las Palmas In and Rincon Surf School was AMAZING! But first a few things you should know. Getting there can be a ride. If you are flying into San Juan, Rent a Charlie Car! They have Jeeps and Kia! I priced a 5 day rental for over 400 bucks! Charlie was 139! And they are open 24/7! You'll need that flying in at 1 or 2am! Yes, flights onto the island are limited but once you get there EVERYTHING IS WORKING!!! I arrived and Carlie Car sends a bus to the airport to pick you up! 30 minutes later your on your way to Rincon! 
As a former police office I don't recommend this but to keep you safe... You'll be on a highway for about an hour then through small business areas for about 35 miles. During this early morning hour... MOST IF NOT ALL cars and trucks DO NOT STOP for REDLIGHTS! It's a slow and go kinda thing. I don't want you to end up rear ended at 60mph... You'll be tired and almost 2 hours away. So before you leave airport area, grab a coffee, red bull what ever and get on the road. I followed a white BMW doing 90. Keep your head on a swivel and watch the road. ALSO, if you like Burger King, You'll love Puerto Rico! I think it's the national restaurant! 
Back to the drive! Once you get into Rincon, roads get tight and twisty... Take your time, not a lot of traffic at 4am. When I arrived at Las Palmas I was greeted to an empty parking lot, the sounds of waves and nature.... wildly loud and calming. Alex left me a code to get into my bungalow! The first thing you notice outside is a pool and fresh water machine... nice! The balcony for entertaining friends and couch to crash outside...
As I opened the door, the room was lowly lit and inviting. A kitchen with dinning table and queen size bed. Now it's 5am... I've been traveling since 2pm yesterday... The bed is not too firm or soft. The A/C is quite and comfortable. After I brought my bags to the room I thought I could stay awake for the 8am surf instruction. Needless to say I fell into a blissful slumber only to awake well after 8. I went to the office and met Alex, who I talked to many times trying to book my stay. Helpful! YES! We talked for a while so I could get the lay of the land. My head pounding I asked for coffee... She gave me a bag of YAUCONO COFFEE! The strongest and smoothest coffee I've had since Ecuador. 
Surf was small and Alex offered me a board to explore. I never surf a break without knowing what's under my feet. So I got a mask and snorkel and sent to Parking lot and Domes. Lots of rocks, coral and sea urchins. WATCH YOUR FEET. 
After returning, I met Travis the owner. Great guy and Alex set me up with Neko...sp
Who knows the breaks and also a Paramedic. 
Next day we sent out into fairly large surf! 6 to 8ft with odd 10 outside coming in. Watch the white water... all these breaks are not like the east coast. Only one sand entrance break and all rocks and coral. The next day we left and surfed near Domes. 6 to 8 with no wind and odd 12 foot faces! YES! Crazy big for unexperienced but worth the try! If your new, wait till end of first set so you can paddle back out.
The Rincon Surf School has a bevy of boards to choose from... I don't recommend going to the beach, renting a board and going out. Rincon surf School has dedicated surfers and instructors to take you out safely and get you back to shore safely! IT'S A MUST! 
Back to it. 
After a few days of the best sleep i've had in a year and relaxing on my balcony that overlooked the ocean... it was time to leave. Alex settled my bill and was wildly kind during my entire visit... For those who think Puerto Rico is suffering... YES, they are! They are suffering that people don't know that everywhere is open for business! Go there and discover it for yourself! It reminds me of rustic Charleston... Folly Beach back in the 80's! Great people, food and fun! RINCON is OPEN for BUSINESS!!! GO GO GO!!!
Flights from San Juan leave at 2am. Be there at least an hour before the flight. 
Be prepared to be flying several hours or extended time in airport waiting for connecting flights. IT'S WORTH IT! 
In summary, The Rincon Surf School at Las Palmas is an extreme value, especially if you go to Econo Supermarket which is only 10 minutes away... and load your frig up with good food and coffee! Wildly quite, peaceful and a walk away from the beach at Parking lots. I'm gonna go again... Thanks to all who made this an enjoyable and stress free surfing vacation.... Surf - Relax - Drink Coffee - Sleep - ENJOY! An easy & cheap way to stay!

We booked this last minute surf trip for my daughter and me. We are used to high end hotels. The whole trip was fantastic. Alex, the manager, is friendly and very helpful. Travis, the owner, bent over backwards to help us navigate our vacation. He took us on a tour of Rincon, he set us up with Julia our surf instructor who is off the charts, and he even towed us out when our truck got bogged down in the sand at the beach. The hotel is very cozy and it was the best sleep I have had in years.

Last minute surfing trip from NYC

Las Palmas Inn was just what we were looking for!
1) We stayed in room 10 and  the room was very spacious and had a great kitchen we were able to cook 3 meals a day in
2) The surf lessons were amazing. I was a beginner and all the instructors were very patient and helpful. I came in not expecting to be able to do be able to stand up but by the end of the first lesson they had coached me up and I was doing it. 
3) The excursion they planned for us (sunset cruise) did not disapoint
4) In general the hotel staff was super friendly and nice and on days we werent' surfing, went out of their way to help us plan activities. 

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a resort to learn to surf but also relax and enjoy Puerto Rico.

Amazing

Booked a surf package through Rincon Surf School which includes 4 nights accommodation, 3 surf lessons, an amazing sunset cruise and the best massage I have ever had — a fantastic experience! The hotel is perfectly located a bit removed from the busy beach stretch but still a very short walk to the bars, restaurants and a great beach. The room I stayed in was clean, large and had a great ocean view (and breeze!). The surf lessons were also amazing and I managed to stand up on the first day and ride almost every wave by day 3 (thanks John!). Loved it so much, I’ve already booked my return for next month!
