I am a spanish student from Mallorca who stayed in Porto Studios for 2 months. Porto Studios is really clean and it is well located (is close to a bus stop and also to the Engineering faculty). The negative aspect is that there are some kitchen supplies missing,  like a coffee machine, an oven and better pans. Also, I found it expensive taking into account the rental fees in this city. 

I really enjoyed the city, because of the good food, warm people, good weather, prices and especially surf culture in Matosinhos. 

        But what really made my staying at Porto Studios special was Monica. Monica works there as an assistant and she really is the person that makes this house works. She comes everyday to take care of the house and of us. She cleans everything and she is always willing to help. She even shares some typical portuguese food with the students when she cooks for herself. Also, she knows the city  well making her a good information source. Besides, I have also learnt some portuguese because I wanted to learn and she was always giving me grammar tips.

Good for students

Jose was very helpful even before we arrived in Porto. We asked for and he provided very detailed travel directions from the airport but we ended up taking the taxi because it was easier. Only took us 15-20mins and 20-something euros, driver stopped right outside the accommodation on the main road. 

Room was clean, tidy and a good size for the two of us (good shower as well). Jose was available on his phone as soon as I called and no question was too minor for his attention. Was happy to chat in the communal area (next to the kitchen, which has everything you need if you decide to cook and eat in - big supermarket just 5mins walk up the road).

Buses to central Porto is opposite the Studios and to the right, quite frequent and only takes around 15mins - we took one of the buses right to the end of the line, can't remember which number it was but I know the last stop was Rua do Bolhao! Coming back, the bus stops right outside the accommodation, think our stop was Areosa Mercado. We bought the Andante Tour 3(day) travelcard from one of the train stations - you can get the Andante Tour 1(day) on the bus.

Overall, very happy with the price given it was a pretty last-minute booking. Would definitely stay here again if I came back to visit Porto, everyone is very friendly in the area. Thank you Jose for your hospitality and making our stay a memorable one for all the right reasons :)
