i am of german nationality.

we traveled to bohol to dive.
the places on alona were all really crowded and loud - so we decided to find a different place to stay.

after 2 days search we found the korean palm island resort.
 we stayed 4 weeks !!!

the owner and his wife are really kind nice people.
the food was amazing - they cook traditional korean dishes and we loved the dinner every evening. 

the rooms are spacios - great good beds tv aircon big clean bathrooms.

most of the staff speaks german - so they translated to the owner what we liked when it came to diving.

the resort has 2 reat diving guides and the owner is an really experienced diver as well.

since the resort owns a big speedbanka - boat we did day long diving trips with lunch on the boat.

the resort has a clean big freshwater pool and is located directly on a quiet beachfront.

we had an absoultely great time there.

ant it was really afordable - nearly cheap !!!

great place we felt like in paradise

We stayed in this beach resort for 3 nights. We had the "standard room", quite big but no closet (only two big selves), no hot water and no TV. There are 6 "standard rooms" in front of the swimming pool and in 5 of them the air conditioning is being built in the wall between the room and the bathroom.So, when the air conditioning is working, the bathroom gets full of hot air. The electrical and water installation works fine but there are no selves or hangers or mirror inside the bathroom. 
   The hotel is owned by Koreans, so the restaurant serves only Korean food. We had only breakfast (American) and it was O.K. There is also a diving school in this resort and they organise also tourist tours if you want to discover Bohol Island. They can pick you up from the airport or the port for a fee. We had free toiletries and towels. 
   We were not delighted with the room but we loved the beach and the swimming pool. 

Beach,  swimming pool but no comfort

Maybe the definition of resort is different in the Philippines, but these beach shack rooms were a far cry from any resort I've ever seen. 40-50 USD a night would be reasonable perhaps, but not more. 

The sink did not work (no water at all) until after we asked twice for it to be fixed. "Fixed" meant we not only had water when we wanted it, but it flowed continuously out of the pipes at the back of the sink, making the bathroom floor a constant puddle--add to that constant sound of water draining down the drains on the floor-- not fun. There was also a steady stream of small ants on the wall by the beds. The TV had 2 channels--one static and one half static (I know you don't go to the beach to watch TV, but if you're going to bother putting one in the room I think there should be a use for it.) 

The free breakfast was a set--some form of eggs, sweetish toast/bread, 2 ham slices, and the saving grace that was half a mango. We ate it because it was "free," not because it was good. We had Korean food the first night and while it was fine, it was exorbitantly priced—a place of chicken for 1300 pesos… We ended up eating at the hotel next door—which is also where we would stay if we went there again, more $$ but worth it.

The location was pretty—the beach and ocean etc, but you couldn’t really swim from there unless you had water shoes—too many things in the water (rocks, corral, urchins).

Not a resort by any means

A horrible story.  Palm Island Hotel and Dive Resort.

We booked a de luxe room for 2 persons plus our son (4Years old) total price $ 95 a day including breakfast.

When we checked in the lady at the reception told us we have to pay an extra $ 40 a day because a child above 3 years old is considered as an adult: WATH yes above 3 years old you have to pay the ADULT price of $ 40

Unbelievable, we ask to speak with the manager. So the owner/manager came and he even not listens to us, but spoke in Korean to the lady and she translated: you have to pay, this are the rules of the hotel. Basta.
It was almost 8 at noon so we accepted this stupid rip-off and went to the room. The ROOM: dirty and with bed sheets full of little bedbugs.  A lavatory with no water.  2 dead cockroaches in the room.

Horrible, but we traveled almost 14 hours from Manila/Cebu/Bohol with a little boy from 4 years old so as I said, we have no choice.

At 6 hour’s in the morning we get a tricycle and went to Bohol Tropics a nice hotel close the city of Tagbilaran  We told the girl at the reception our horrible story. She smiled with understanding, she gives us a nice room on the spot and we sleep until noon.

Not stay in Palm Island Hotel and dive resort at doljo beach Panglao !! Unless you can speak Korean, have no child (4 year old adult) and like to sleep with bedbugs.
