Came with friends and family, great hosting and happy team, seems young and fun. Good food amazing entertainment and band.
Must try the pizza and the spicy cocktails. They had an amazing spicy pinacolda

So we ordered our food and some idiots sat next to us and started smoking we complained and found out this a smoking restaurant  wtf bro?
We hastily took our food home no surprise they have no customers.
The food wasn't bad but it left a bad taste in our mouth disgusting that this still legal to smoke in a restaurant 

Can't give this any points

The reviews is exactly the opposite. They will have to require you to deposit to make a reservation. The place isnt secure, the main door is exactly located at the hi way. Room has an aircon that doesnt function well, luckily it rained in the morning. This place is a motel for foreigners. Imagine bumping into a young filipina with her towel on in the common toilet and bath. Worst is the toilet smells cigarette and there is nobody in the front desk to answer your complains. 

Disappointing

Spacious room with ensuite bathroom.  Clean, nicely done with decorations ( The bathrooms also very clean and nicely set up. We recommend it also for the staff, very helpful and nice. Thanks for all.

Quite and friendly. Top in Mactan Island

We stayed at La Place as a group of three when we went to Lapu Lapu for our Advanced OW course. The rooms are pretty basic but we had a spacious one with an extra bed. The towels on the bed was a nice touch! 

The toilets are really small cubicles and the showers are lacking hooks to hang my stuff. Don't be fooled by the heaters; there is no hot water at all and the water pressure is very weak. There are soap dispensers but they're never topped up. 

Perhaps La Place's redeeming factor is the lounge area downstairs. There's a pool table, TV, outdoor hammock area and smoking area further out. I can imagine it would look much better if a little more care was put in. 

The restobar portion is untrue, however. It is still under construction. The nearest place to eat is the Maribago Grill opposite. All in all, it offers very basic amenities but if you've had a full day of diving, it does the job.

Great sleep when you're exhausted

We booked La Place Guesthouse through Hostel World prior to the trip as a place to stay on Mactan Island before our flight from Cebu to Puerto Princesa the following morning, which was actually cancelled the following day due to a Typhoon!
We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us to our room. We had booked a room overlooking the garden but there had been a leak so we were relocated to a different room opposite the toilets… The hall smelt horrendous and the room was very dark and dingy. I’m sure it was clean, but after a long 5 hour bus journey, horrendous weather and to then be shown this as your room, I wasn’t impressed. The room had a double bed but was basically a mattress on the floor, a very basic shelf unit, and a cracked mirror. The room came with free WIFI, which was provided on arrival.
The outside bar looked decent with good seating area, but again, I think because of the terrible weather and the way the day had gone all I could think about was being somewhere with a comfortable bed and aircon. 
I wouldn’t recommend La Place as it is a bit out on a limb situated on a busy road, with very basic rooms and pretty grim shower facilities.

Bog Standard Budget Hostel

Stayed here for the ironman event in Mactan approx. 5km from Shangri la which is the hotel partner of IM. La place is situated along the hi-way so getting public transport is not an issue.
The owner is friendly and accomodating, I got the solo room with own bathroom it is spacious and clean. 
My only concern is the lighting as they use yellow light nonetheless I recommend this place if you are in a strict budget and not picky.
