Chariz Inn

Our room had a broken doorknob, it took us at least 3-5 minutes to remove the key from the doorknob. In case of brownout, they have a generator for lights which is good, but not for the aircon which made the room stifling during brownout because there was no other source of air/cool air in the room, no electric fan. We hope they had electric fans. Also, when one of us needed to use the comfort room at dawn, we discovered there was no water. Good thing we had a bunch of bottled water. We don't know if they turn off the water source every dawn and turn it on again in the morning or if this was an isolated case. They don't provide much in terms of toiletries. Took a long time for the hot shower to get hot. Shower has no visible heater but the left knob does produce hot water. Also, their queen bed was composed of 2 single beds aligned together which was uncomfortable. It awoke us at dawn because part of our back was not in the mattress anymore as one of the single beds got separated from the other. We had to move the bed side by side on and off as it kept getting separated while we slept. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Although we had to remind them of our floor mat and soap. When I asked if I can borrow a broom to sweep our room, they said they'll sweep it for us. Location is OK, walking distance to the beach which can be fun if you like walking around exploring. Room was clean. Room size is OK for 2 people, any more and it'll be crowded. Their hallway is always clean. Unlimited coffee and emergency lights during brown out are a plus. :) Breakfast is OK too. Regarding the water, yes it has a funny taste. But we're not sure if it's because of the water source of the whole town or only theirs since we did not check-in in any other hostel/inn. We would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's because the water source of the town is in the mountains.
