I stayed at Apuvilla for two months July-September 2016. I run a non-profit that benefits the schools of the Colca Valley. Jhairo, Nixon, James and Hugo made my room at Apuvilla my new home in Yanque. They accomodated me with furniture for my room so I could work effectively and provided support for my charity by loading the truck and storing equipment at the hotel. James is an excellent chef. These are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I consider them my frienfs. The lodge is beautiful and full of light. The view is spectacular. You will have to accept certain shortcomings from any place you stay in the Colca Valley. Be prepared for the cold. But the people and the atmosphere at Apuvilla are warm, welcoming and accomodating. I will be living here for two months again next year.
