6 reviewsThis place is owned by a very nice couple. They guide picked us up at the airport and we went to a dock where the husband met us and helped us get on the boat. We had the same boatman the whole time who was great. The wife, Gardner, and dog met us at the lodge. We were the only ones that stayed at the lodge that weekend. The wife cooked all of our meals for us which were great (I'm a veggie and she accommodated). When my friend got sick she boiled up a concoction for her. She cleaned our cabin everyday too. The guide was with us the whole time and even ate our meals with us. He was incredibly knowledgeable and funny. He found us American girls with spider fears quite entertaining. Since we were the only ones there we were able to go off the agenda and do what we wanted. Please don't mistake this for a resort. You will have no cell service, no ac or fan, electricity only at night, there will only be screens for windows and doors, your showers will always be cold (it was too hot to care) and sometimes the water will be a little brown, and there will be bugs, spiders, roaches and frogs. But if that's the adventure you're looking for, Caoba was great!
