Attention this hostel doesn't exist anymore at this adress: Jr. La Merced 480, Chachapoyas! We looked around the whole street and asked a lot of people living there. The hostel doesn't exist anymore! The phone number isn't working, even if you call it from an peruan phone!

We loved Chacapoyas and stayed here for four nights. Our private room was large, had great wifi and cable TV and the shower was hot. The Hostal is close to everything and they can organize tours as well. 
The price was the cheapest we had found in our two months in Peru at 35s per night. The staff were really nice too. Definitely recommend. 

Great Hostal

I enjoyed my time at the hostel, I loved that it was so cheap, clean and quiet. I paid s/15 for a very comfortable bed, plus I had a kitchen to prepare what I wanted and everything was very clean. Maybe not all the staff is very efficient, but the lady who attended me was very attentive and was looking forward to having the best stay at the hostel.

A night of warmth

It's a hostel-like hostel, with local care so they have some time and tranquility. The cleanliness is acceptable, there were no mushrooms in the bathroom and everything with new tiles. It consists of an entrance on the first floor with a counter and there are 3 rooms with private bathroom, on the second and third floors shared rooms and each with a kitchen. The first kitchen was prepared with a freezer, functioning everything and with many cooking implants because that's where the staff of the hostel do it. The second floor was more spacious but it was quieter with fewer people to share. The front of the 6 had a nice balcony. Really very cheap and more for the offer. Only 2 rooms from the main head office. The wifi was only in the reception.

New facilities, acceptable cleaning, very cheap.

The taxi driver who was supposed to take me to El Tambo, said there was no room left there and left me at this place. The rooms were poorly serviced, (not cleaned, no fresh towels, etc) there was excessive noise from the receptionist's kids until late at night. On top of it all I received multiple flea bites that took a long time to cure. Avoid at all costs.

Disaster of a hostal

From 11/12/2015 to 17/12/2015 we stayed in this hotel, the attention of the receptionist in the morning for us was horrible, echoing or rising from the chair in which she was lying and tapping, and if you want to go to rest there is not possible because about 7:30 in the morning they turn on the TV from the upper and upper floors that is heard all over the hotel.

Very poor service.

This new hostel is clean, has two kitchens and is in a great central location. They need lockers to secure valuables and it lacks atmosphere. I recommend the four bed dormitory. 

I can recommend Carlo at Amazon Expeditions on the main square for booking tours.

Modern, clean and central

The best hostel i found in peru to this price. They don't charge everybody the same though.
There are 2 kitchens, 3Tv's and 2computers you can use, altough one of them is not working. Staff is friendly, rooms and toilets are clean.
Only thing that bothered me was the Staff using the same kitchen and not cleaning it afterwards, they leafe everything and do the dishes the day after. But if you leave something (i couldn't do my dishes -it was very little- because there was no water) they would come to you and ask you to clean it.

On of the best hostels in Peru

The hotel has a common area where you can use the internet, serve food or drinks or simply chat, as well as laundry service and friendly attention.

Well, it's cheap and it's 2 blocks from the square.

Very good service, good location and have a kitchen always available so that one can have lunch, breakfast or prepare something.It is located 2 blocks from the Plaza Mayor, a block from the Amazon Street which is a street full of restaurants, shops diverse and close to very good regional food restaurants.
