It's a wonderful place! The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing, we felt close to nature and enjoyed the walk with the camels in the morning.
The staff was very kind and hospitable. The room was new, spacious and comfortable. The food was very tasty, we tried the camel's milk. We forgot about the bustle and simply enjoyed each moment of being there and the beauty of nature! I hope to get back for a longer time.
I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful place

My stay at Safari Desert Camp was an unforgettable experience. Nestled among the dunes, the location offers a unique and serene desert atmosphere. The comfort of the beds was exceptional, ensuring a restful night under the stars. The staff were incredibly warm and hospitable, adding a personal touch to the entire experience. Additionally, the food was delicious, with a variety of dishes that catered well to different tastes. Highly recommend this camp for a luxurious and authentic desert experience.

Exquisite Desert Experience at Safari Desert Camp

Rooms were quiet spacious with main drawback being restricted electricity availability from 9pm to 7am. Apparently it does not apply to all accommodation, but in our allocated room there was only restricted lighting pre 9pm. Not the case for some rooms occupied by other tour group members. Rooms quiet spacious but no space provided for luggage, and water pressure in shower was ok. Limited variety in provided buffet meals and camel kebab served for dinner was very chewy and hard to digest. Very close to dunes for sunrise and sunset viewings. Overall an interesting experience but one night was sufficient

OK for one night stay

Located in the heart of the Wahiba (or Sharqiya) Sands, this Camp was reached by us from the north, riding through the desert for about forty minutes.
It's perceived as perfectly isolated from other tourist settlements: only a few Bedouin tents are encountered along the road to the camp. I highlight this as a positive feature, as in August 2022, having visited the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan, we were struck by the presence of camps practically in visual contact with each other.
As I learn from the previous photos published by the other visitors, in very recent times the camp has been radically renovated as regards the individual houses: they now appear as elegant masonry hexagons, comfortable and finely furnished, connected by tiled paths.
Meals (in our case included in the price of the accommodation) are taken in the common pavilion which is in the center of the camp.
All around, simply and beautifully, the desert. I mean, the desert of sand, very attractive by its dunes, which loom over the camp - located in a hollow - and seem to want to swallow it sooner or later (I hope the builders have correctly calculated the movement of the dunes).
The price of accommodation for one night, for our group of ten people, was 225 rials (equivalent to about 560 euros), including dinner on arrival and breakfast on departure: a fair price.
Because of the gorgeousness of this accommodation, we are even willing to forget a flaw such as the lack of hot water on the evening of our arrival.

Magical accommodation in the heart of Sharqiya Sands

Extremely impressive experience! We stayed at two tents separate of the main camp and experienced a lifetime stay in the desert being completely alone with our family and just somebody doing the cooking for us for dinner and breakfast. Everything was perfect- starting with the generous Omani welcome, the extremely nice tents, a great and lonely surrounding, great food and impressive day and nights in the desert. A lifetime experience 

This is a wonderful hotel with full amenities in the desert. My room was a stand alone building with an outdoor shower and toilet that had the most amazing view of stars at night. Best bathroom ever. The food is great and plentiful for both breakfast and dinner. The grounds are clean and well kept. Very lovely location.

Wonderful place in the desert

Oh my!  What a lovely place in the Wahibi Sands desert!

We arrived with our tour group of 12 in 3 land cruisers.   The journey to getting to the camp was adventure aplenty, with much dune bashing and some stops along the way to check out random camels walking through the desert.   

We were greeted and welcomed to the camp with tea and dates and checked in to our "tents".  Ours (and most others) weren't really tents -- actual small structures with a "tent-like" quality to them on the inside.   Ours was large with three twin beds.  The room was covered in carpet (ceiling, walls, and floor) with large pillows for lounging. Mosquito nets covered the beds and the windows were glass-less with shutters.  The bathroom was outside and while it had walls and a door, it was "open air".  Fun!

The camels were calling; we followed our noses and the adorable camel grunts to the camp entrance where short and long camel rides were being offered.  I'm no camel exert but they looked to be in good shape and well cared for.  A short ride was had and enjoyed before we got back in the land cruisers for more dune bashing and fun frolicking in the desert sand before enjoying a remote sunset.  Wow oh wow.  I do so very much love sunsets in the desert.

Back at the camp, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the main dining area.  Very good food.  I was a bit disappointed that there weren't any after-dinner activities -- music?  camp fire?   Bedouin ghost stories?  Seriously, though - having the opportunity to hear about Bedouin life out in the desert would have been fantastic.   Our group just sat around on pillows outside for a short time then we all just dispersed back to our individual tents, which was too bad. 

We woke up early and had the most spectacular sunset views from the "front porch" of our "tent".   Magical.  

Breakfast was hearty with amazing omelets and the most fantastic Arabic-style bread I had during my whole stay in Oman.  

I would have loved to stay a few hours longer, but there was much of Oman to see.

I enjoyed my stay!   I highly recommend it!

Really enjoyed my stay!

Great location. Nice tents, well spaced out so you feel you can enjoy the desert alone. Great camel rides to watch the sunset and a good dinner also served. Well priced and all round a really nice experience

Beautiful camp in the middle of the desert

A colleague and I extended a work trip and did a 1 day tour that included a overnight stay at this desert camp. It was one of the most beautiful nights of my life!  The staff were welcoming and friendly (especially Mohammed)  and we were lucky enough to be the only guests at the camp!  We went on a stunning camel tour to see the sunset and set our alarms at 3am to see the stars a night.  Facilities are basic but we needed nothing more -  you are staying in the desert after all, why would you want wifi and a flat screen TV!  Food was amazing on camp (as was elsewhere in Oman) and our room and bathroom was clear. Would definitely recommend!

An absolute dream!

I highly recommend this place. You can spend evening on dunes to watch sunset and again watch the sunrise if you wish to do so. The food at buffet is lovely as well as the friendly staff. I would come here again, highly recommended! If you meet people outside of the desert telling you that you are not able to drive there if you do not have 4x4 car, do not believe them. You will be able to. :)
