Very nice, friendly, traditional and quiet hotel with a great view. Very spacy and cosy common areas with fireplace. Excellent base for cross-country skiing. Sauna. Exceptionally good beds! We stayed there through the easter of 2024, the easter night buffet dinner was just fantastic!

We had our wedding here with two locations from the same owner, Haukliseter and Høvringen fjellstue, and several things that were promised before the wedding that were to be arranged, were never delivered like the right drinks and beverages and the quality of the food did not match the prices , no proper servants.+ other things….
On the other location where the wedding cake and coffee were to be served, the cake was ruined because it had been removed from the cooler where specific instructions were given so it would have been saved.
Poor service and rude behavior to guests and the ones who attended the wedding! Think twice before booking at this hotel.

Not very good 👎

Great hotel. Stayed here for a week on a knitting trip in march. Lots of snow, friendly staff, good food and a nice bed.
We did not see the Northen lights but we did do a fanraric walk at night on snow shoes.

We had a great week.

Fantastic week

Very fine food and breakfast.
Top class kitchen chief and nice room with your own bath and toilet.
Very quite and in the middle of Rondane National Park. Skiing tracks just outside the door.
Would like to come another time.

Super fine "Fjellstue" in pretty nature of Rondane national park

The hotel is very clean, very friendly and old time lodge (it has been open since the 1840's). The food is excellent. The skiing is wonderful. It is very quiet and skiing (or hiking in the summer) is all there is to do. Great sauna!

XC Skiing in March

I think this was our fifth visit and it was excellent as always. Marit and Tormod are very welcoming, the food is wonderful and it's such a beautiful area for cross-country skiing. Plenty to enjoy during the week. One of the highlights is always skiing to Mysuster and enjoying the wonderful views on the way, a cuppa at the cafe and getting the bus back to the Fjellstue. Once again, thank you Marit, Tormod and your staff for a lovely week.

Back again for another wonderful week!

Our second visit here, no less amazing than our first. The Fjellstue has s wonderful, warm, friendly family feel. Not surprising, as it is family run by two very  welcoming hosts who care very well  for their guests. Many of the guests you meet here will be people who return here on a regular basis. The rooms are warm, atmospheric, and provide all that the cross country skier needs. The dining room is largely candle-lit at dinner time, and the menu carefully chosen and prepared. The skiing in the area is at times challenging but there are easier routes as well. We shall do our best to make time to return here again. 

The true Fjellstue experience. 

Fantastic stay with Marit and Tormod. Excellent food and amazing accommodation in this family run hotel in the village of Høvringen in the Rondane. Excellent base to explore the surrounding area by cross country ski.
