Lovely hotel and staff. The gentleman at the reception desk, Patrick, was so very helpful in researching the bus schedules and tour information. Upon checking in, he showed us the house where breakfast would be served and provided all the necessary information (check-out time, breakfast, etc.). Warm and hospitable! We were in room 106. It was off the reception area, so I was a little concerned about noise. No need to worry…didn’t hear a peep all night. The room was charming with comfortable beds and decor. The bathroom appeared recently renovated. The shower was a delight…my husband suspects a water softener, as the lather was unbeatable. The sink was too small, however, and with a vanity mirror that was extending over the sink, there was little room to wash your face or brush without hitting your head. Even with that design flaw, we felt we had made an excellent choice in hotels. The included breakfast was outstanding. The woman who runs it (apologies for not getting her name) put out a fantastic spread with some awesome bread from the local bakery. We were happily stuffed . We booked this hotel in Aurland because we couldn’t find a good one in Flåm, where we stopped on the nutshell tour overnight to have an opportunity to kayak in the fjord. Keep in mind that it is quite expensive to take the bus to and from, and the bus schedule is not always convenient.
