This place is amazing. The units are newly renovated, VERY clean and VERY functional!
All the cooking facilities you need, even a coffee maker and milk frother. The beds are comfy, the AC unit works a treat, the couch and chair nice and soft, and the hosts! Theyre so friendly and amazing. I loved my stay here and when back in Tauranga I will most definitely be staying here again. There is roadworks right outside and couldnt hear anything once inside. Its literally 2 minutes from the hospital, even with heavy traffic and alot of roadworks. Just an absolute pleasure staying here. 
P.S. To the hotel hosts and staff..i was meant to leave a note before we left as we left before the office opened. But thank you so much for making what is usually a very hectic time for us a real breeze. We felt very comfortable and looked after. I wish all the best things for you guys! Thanks again.

Very "functional"!!

We've been coming here for four years around new year. For families who want access to the Mount (motorway two blocks away) but without the extortionate cost of accommodation at peak times, this is as good as a motel gets. On 15th Ave, it's a couple of blocks from a Countdown and Pak n Save. The rooms have all been refurbished recently, and they've been well maintained. Each time we go, there's something added: last time it was new couches and a smart TV; this time it was a coffee machine. Cute pool and a good spa.  Owners are very helpful / approachable.
It's on Cameron Road, so you'll hear the odd siren and blow-off valve, but the rooms are pretty quiet nonetheless.

Top-end Motel

I have traveled to this Inn for over forty business trips, and have been accommodated in each and every instance by the proprietors.  They have gone well beyond the mark, especially during Covid where they were flexible with our business needs and with my personal needs, and that is indeed value for the money.  The hotel location is close to the downtown area, close to the motorway, and easy to find.  Additionally, I was able to lap swim not too far away at Greerton or during the Summer at the Memorial Park, making things easy.

The tidiness is a signal of their integrity, and they understand that the feeling of security and hospitality doesn't start at the hotel door--it starts at the reservation and ends at check-out.  A very good operator at Academy Motor Inn.

The rooms are nice, large bed, easy dinning area, spa bath, wifi, aircon and a fan, tv with plenty of channels breakfast menu if you want it good prizes, lots of restaurants not to far away i found the place was very comfortable with eveything you my need

Handy place to stay

We stayed overnight, along with family in the unit next door.  The units were extremely clean and tidy.  The wall heater worried extremely well ( was a very wet and cold weekend).  The bed was very comfy.  We were greeted very warmly at the motel reception.  Actually, we could not fault the rooms, so made our overnight stay very comfortable.

We booked into the Academy Motor Inn for a 3 night stay. 
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the moment we walked in Simon and Caroline made us feel welcome and that our stay with them was important.The unit we had was immaculately clean, credit to their amazing housekeepers, it was spacious, there was everything we needed and most importantly everything worked.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable, both of us slept well. Shower was great.
Being on a main road we appreciated that no noise was heard from the traffic. 
Thank you to all and we will be back again.

Great place to stay

Once again a great stay at the Academy Motor Inn. Friendly hosts who are always  updating the facilities. Very clean and quiet unit. The Academy Motor Inn continues to be one of my favourite accommodations on my regular business travels.

Love the upgrades they have completed

Always enjoy a stay with the Driessens in one of their wonderful units. Clean, tidy and spacious units with an excellent breakfast and pool for the warmer months. A stone’s throw from the centre of town and they always give great advice on things to do and see. Definitely worth a stay.
