Hotel Gasthof Euverem

I found this place by chance, when looking for accommodation to visit Maastricht, and it turned out to be a great choice! We booked a four-bed room, which was indeed a full floor in a small house attached to the main building, with two separate rooms an a big bathroom. Inside, everything was basic, but very clean and working properly, including good heating. The staff was very friendly, speaking English and arranging everything efficiently. We had dinner in the restaurant that belongs to the hotel, and the food was good and at a fair price. They also have a huge selection of beers. The menu was only in Dutch, but they helped us to understand it. It looks like there are not many foreigners visiting this place, which makes it feel more authentic. The room had a fair price too, and a good breakfast was included. They even booked a big table for us to ensure that we could sit all together during the breakfast. Again, very good service! The following day we went to Maastricht as we planned, which is 15-20 minutes from there by car, but before, we had enjoyed a nice day in the countryside. The area surrounding the hotel is quiet, and there are full of sheeps and cows around. The main town is called Gulpen, and it is in 15 minutes walking distance by a nice path next to the farms and a typical Dutch castle. A recommendable walk if the weather is good (just be sure to take the path on the right of the first farm, to avoid the road). Overall, a nice option to enjoy different surroundings that the typical city hotels. Highly recommendable.
