Hi Folks, if you are seeking a serene escape near Kathandu. Look no further than the Godavari Village Resort, Nestled in the picturesque Godavari area. This charming retreat offers a delightful blend of comfort, convenience and natural beauty with hell lots of greeneries.

What We Loved about this resort: Give good vive with greenery’s, Peaceful, Best for Family, Thoughtful Amenities, Friendly Service, Poolside Bliss, Ample parking space and Staff are greats very helpful. 

What we don’t like about this resort: Bed Mattress is getting very old and need to replace.  Rest of all “OLD BUT FANTATICALLY MAINTANED”.

I regret to mention that despite my inclination to award a 5-star rating, I must express my disappointment with the lack of attention given to our overall service by the F&B manager and other staff. It appears that their primary focus lies solely on catering to the needs of VIPs.

Anada Gautam has truly excelled in providing exceptional hospitality service. He went above and beyond to take care of us and delivered an outstanding food service in a highly professional manner. Unlike other managers and staff who seemed to prioritize VIP members, Anada Gautam made sure to attend to our needs. It was disappointing that the manager didn't even bother to inquire about our satisfaction with the food. We are immensely grateful to Anada Gautam for taking such good care of us. When we return, we would be delighted to see him again and receive his exceptional service. He is truly the backbone of this hotel and deserves a well-deserved raise. While we appreciate the overall property and the hospitality provided by the front desk, it is evident that the F&B manager and other restaurant staff working from 8pm-10pm lack the same level of professionalism displayed by Mr. Anada Gautam.

Expect exceptional service from Anada in the F&B industry that exceeds expectations and ensures complete satisfaction.

We stayed one night at Godawari Village Resort in the cold of December. The buildings are nice from outside. The king size bedroom was average with overflowing sink. Dinner was cold really bad. I got the diarrea right after. I let the receptionist know about that but not much response except for fake apology.

Good buildings, Worst food

We stayed here for 4 nights in April 2023.The room was nice and spacious with a lovely big comfy bed and mini fridge in the cupboard. We had a problem with our hot water for a couple of nights but this was fixed after mentioning to reception. The setting of the hotel is nice with immaculate gardens but A LOT of steps to get anywhere. Our room was about halfway to the restaurant and was 116 steps down from reception! We got the feeling this hotel is more geared towards businesspeople from Kathmandu rather than tourists and the prices for anything at the resort reflected this. We didn’t really eat at the restaurant for dinner ($10 for breakfast buffet, $16 for dinner), preferring to walk into Godavari and eat for a fraction of the cost. The staff were not as friendly as other places we have stayed and also seemed a bit confused when we wanted to leave the resort to go sightseeing! However they did help us get taxis by showing us how to use Pathao (similar to Uber).

Nice but not geared towards tourists

I loved everything from the old-fashioned key and bathroom fixtures to the restaurant, including the long brick walks, the well-maintained lawns, and especially the large swimming pool and the exceptional service....not to mention all the FLOWERS and the mountain view!

In deluxe,  two beds joined to make one single bed and two matresses  joined to make single bed. Thats the stupid idea in such kind of resort.

I was on my family holiday, the resort is in an amazing location but the resort needs really renovation to compete with today's hospitality market. Good service, cleaned and calm environment, you will definitely enjoy with your family and friends. Huge space and green everywhere.
Again my suggestion, do the refurbishment ASAP.

Wonderful Location, Amazing Resort BUT a bit DATED

Just a few miles away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu is the idyllic Godavari Resort. After a bumpy ride from the airport, entering the lush green compound relaxes you. The check-in and reception area are at the top of the hill overlooking a picturesque valley and the rest of the resort.

The resort buildings are "chalet"-styled, with 4-6 (?) large rooms per chalet. The rooms are very tastefully furnished with all the requisite amenities e.g. Mini refrigerator, work desk, room for your belongings. The wifi worked very well and the TV provided plenty of options. The breakfast and dinner at the resort restaurant was excellent, a combination of western and local dishes.

While we did not get to use it, the sprawling well maintained grounds, include a gym and a swimming pool. Catch the sunrise, and on a clear day you might get a glimpse of the Himalayas.

The management and staff were very customer-centric making it a memorable visit. Will plan to visit again !

An Oasis in the Valley

I have many good experience at this resort, that is before the earthquake that destroyed the tower block. It is sad to see the whole tower block leveled after the quake and left empty. The resort is also showing its' age. Frankly it requires refreshing makeover. I was assigned a chalet where its heater/aircon unit was not working. The 7 degree night gave me little rest. Though they supplied a portable heater that blows hot air into the ceiling of a very large room, the room remained cold. I had to go to bed skipping my daily shower! Overall the property is still beautiful. But journey there through broken road is not pleasant and the aged rooms did not make the trip memorable.

Once a Beautiful Resort

This is a good place to stay to access Mount Plulchowki and the Botanic Gardens. Although it's not a grand place, it is really well managed and the food and beverage staff are outstanding. Recommended.
