Htun Yadanar Motel

I stayed three nights at the Htun Yadanar and it generally was a good choice. The room was very clean, good and new mattresses, air con, nice view (third floor North facing), TV and fridge. However, they don't have cover sheets so you might to bring a sheet of your own if you prefer sleeping with one instead of just a blanket. The bathrooms are spacious and clean with hot water, Western toilet, sink and mirror. They even provided soap bars, shampoo and toothbrushes and toothpaste. The location is excellent, very closely located to a lot of restaurants and the river. The breakfast is included BUT it's a bit of a weird story. It's served to the room at 7.30 a.m. (I guess you could ask to have it delivered at another time), the thing is, they didn't inform me about this upon check in. I spent three nights and the breakfast consisted of French toast with sugar and a 3-in-1 coffee every day. It suited me well but it's definitely something to be aware of. The staff, especially - I assume - the owner was only semi-friendly or helpful and hardly spoke any English. He was even downright rude to two young women guests, who asked about their promised transport, that there was none. The two then told me that the lady of the house had promised to organize transport to the bus station for them but no one showed up to pick them up. So, in terms of rooms and if you're willing to pay a bit more than for just a dorm bed, it's a good choice. But perhaps it's advisable to arrange for any transport or trips around the place with someone else (Elegant Myanmar Tours or Breeze Guest House).
