I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights,as it was very central, easily located near the old That Dam temple-monument. It is about 10 minutes walk from the bus station.
From the bus station turn right towards the main road,Avenue Lane Xano - you will see the huge Patuxay ( Arch de Triomphe); at the top of the road,with the Presidential Palace at the opposite end of this road.

As you cross the road, you will see the ANZ Bank on the opposite side of the road,turn left and then first right and you will see the Monument in front of you.

The La Gondola is down the cul de sac road, above the restaurant.It is therefore, easily placed for many cafes,bars and tourist attractions, including the Night Market and the Mekong River.
As you may have seen from other reviews, there is a Fruit Shake shop for refreshing real fruit chilled drinks yards from the hotel on the main road.

Marco is the Italian owner of the property is friendly and welcoming.The rooms were quite large, with a three quarter size comfy bed, and en-suite bathroom.
There is air con/fan, a fridge and a kettle, and 2 small bottles of water supplied each day.
A small breakfast was supplied, but there are many small cafes yards away.
Maybe the only problems were the wifi, which was difficult to access at times,and the old TV set - which I didnt use much.There are outside tables, for el frescoor a cigarette.

Overall, a nice place to stay

Nice Hotel with Good Central Location

The restaurant says closed here. It is relocated. 
Had pasta and Italian wine a warm night. Like sitting in Rome in this peaceful ally. We just stumbled upon it as it does not show here on Trip Advisor. 
This is an expensive place. 
My hubby had pasta with gorgonzola sauce. I had with porcini prosciutto and tomato.
First we got a cut baguette. No plates. We asked for olive oil as the bread was very dry. No plates. Hubby was pleased with the pasta. Mine had some clumps. As not cooked in enough water or not stirred. The taste was right. 
Then we had one coffee and 2 digestives.
Worth the price? Doubtful. 
/But in our home country we would have paid half of the price/


This is for the restaurant

Really great place to eat authentic italian food in Vientiane! We had antipasti and pizzas. The food was very good and the service exceptional. Free drinking water. The location is nice too.
We didn't stay in the guesthouse though, so no comment on that.                                             

Great pizzas

The actual location of the guesthouse is great and very central.  Room was simple but had what we needed for a few nights.  No WiFi was available during our stay although this was listed as available when booking.  Bathroom was very basic.  The owner was very friendly and whilst other team members tried, communication was difficult with my poor Lao and their little English (Google Translate helped).  Breakfast was simple (bread, omelette and juice) but done the job.  We paid $30 per night on Booking, but were surprised that the listed rate in the property was K220,000 which is around 20% cheaper - this seemed a bit odd.

Did the job

Had a room without windows. AirCon old and took many hours to cool the room.Fan very noisy so not an option when you want to sleep.WiFi very bad even for beeing Laos, useless most of the time. 
Tvchannels not for westerners and picture bad. Had a fridge, good. Last night i had a mouse in the room, can happen in SE Asia but the owner should not have charge me for that night or give me discount. I wouldnt mention the mouse if he done that.Room price was 120000 kip in June and i guess this is what you get for that price. If this place was better managed it could be ok.


you get what you pay for

The room is very noisy. Hard to sleep. Room full of mosquito and smell bad. Air con work very badly. 
Waiter doesnt speek english. Breakfast terrible. Owner no friendly at all. 
Dont waste your time and money. Dont go there
