Nice hotel. We only stayed one night so I can't judge local game and wildlife activities. Our room was really good and we had a very nice meal by an open fire in the restaurant. Very cosy. Staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Nice gardens. One thing to note is that the power is provided by a generator so it's not always on. Probably not a problem if you're out all day. It's on in the morning and evening. The road is a bit rough from the B5 to the lodge. We had a high clearance SUV so not really a problem but be careful if arriving in a saloon car.

Kenya Tour

I recommend this place to any business group that may try to look for a place to hold meetings. Early July we decided to hold our mid yearly meeting, we decided to hold our meeting at giraffe ark. The place is well kept especially the compound, the conference was amazing. The rooms were spacious especially the rooms behind the reception. Staff are friendly and the food was of good quality and fresh. Definitely we will be back come next year. Kudos

iT IS an amazing place. Exclusive, well maintained, not too big, personalized service, a great 6km ride from main road, great chef, great service, and amazing environment, Kenyan owned and designed upto top standards.

We stayed at Giraffe Ark Game Lodge for two Nights in January 2019.The place is cool,staff are very friendly and the meals are done as per one's preference.The rooms are spacious some with interconnecting doors for family preference.
Will be back.

Home away from home

It was great to be in this hotel with my family, we enjoyed the stay! The hotel is located in a serene place in Nyeri. It's 6km from the main road, the road leading to the hotel is a dirt road but you don't need a 4x4 to get there, any car will do. The hotel ground is well taken care of, the lawns were well done and clean despite being a dry season. The staff are responsive, friendly and welcoming. The rooms are great and very spacious especially the Executive rooms. The bathroom is amazing, its a room by itself and the decor was great. The food was in plenty, kudos to the chefs! The only negative thing is that they do not serve water in the restaurant, one has to buy despite staying on full-board basis. The drinks are expensive compared to other hotels of the same class. The swimming pool was really cold (its not heated) and very small such that it was crowded. The management should consider having evening entertainment (e.g bands, karaoke, acrobats etc.) especially when they have many residents around. Despite the negative and positive aspects of the hotel, overall our stay was great and I would still recommend this hotel to others! Keep it up Giraffe Ark!!!

Quite nice for families for a short stay

We booked for two rooms with an interconnecting door. we stayed for two nights and we enjoyed the food and nature walk inside the hotel. the grounds are well maintained. the staffs were very interactive and friendly, you could feel well taken care of. The rooms were well maintained and spacious The only thing is that during the evening the place was cold.

"A relaxing environment and nature of its kind.'

The Giraffe Ark is about 190 kms from Nairobi, and the road to the property is all good except for last 6 km, which is a rough road. The place is nice, with big lawns, and many activities to keep one occupied, including badminton, horse riding, chess and checkers on a big board, basketball and snooker. Game drives to Aberdare National Park and Solio Ranch are all within easy reach. We had a suite, which was very spacious and had great amenities. Being Vegetarian, we were well catered for, and the food was great.
Wifi was available around the reception, but did not reach the rooms.
The hotel has a theme of islands, and all rooms and common areas are named after islands.
