Bansyoukaku Shikishima

Stayed one night in Oak room 202. Very spacious and luxurious looking, with semi open air onsen, toilet and sitting room. Western style furniture with bed, wardrobe (with pyjamas and yukatas) and sofa. Very modern audio visual equipment including LED flat screen TV, HiFi and DVD player. Green tea pudding were stored in the fridge for our consumption. The green tea was of high quality. The hotel provides shuttle to the Ureshino bus centre. Once arrived, a personal attendant would brief you the details in fluent English, e.g. private spa and dinner/breakfast arrangement etc. Hotel lobby filled with nostalgic atmosphere, especially the souvenir shop which was deliberately decorated in Showa era style. We had one hour private spa in House 1. The setting was very cosy and the pool size good enough for a family. The semi open air in-room onsen was also of good size - the water likely originated from the bicarbonate sodium spring, which made your skin silky and smooth after soaking for a while. Meals were served inside private cubicles in the banquet hall. The grilled saga wagyu beef was the highlight of dinner. For breakfast, the grilled fish and yudofu. The lady who served the dinner was very nice, passed us leaflet of Yutoku Inari once learned of our intention to go there. A hint of luxury during our short stay in Ureshino! Good for travellers of all ages.
