1人での宿泊でしたが、スタッフの方にはとても親切にしていただきました。
温泉は素晴らしく、料理もとても素晴らしいです。外観は古いかもしれませんし、wi-fiが不十分かもしれませんが、自然の中の宿を満喫するならば、最高の宿でした。また、泊まりたいです。

Staffs is kindness,despite stay alone.
Hot spring is amazing, I had never known such a best spring.
Dinner and breakfast are also elaborate and very delicious.
Wi-fi may be inadequate, but enough to enjoy nature.
It is the number one inn I want to visit again.

We stayed at Ryokan Yunomineso during our walk on the Kumano Kodo last week.  The rooms were very comfortable, the food was exquisite (including new year's specialties like grilled lake trout with roe!) and we particularly enjoyed the private onsen.  But the highlight was Mr. Yano himself!  After being a little tired from three days of hiking, our hike to Nachi-San the following day which started with a steep ascent seemed daunting with the 40-pound pack of clothes and supplies we were carrying.  No problem!  Mr. Yano volunteered to personally deliver the pack to our minshuku in Nachi-San, which allowed us to make the hike with just our water bottles and snacks for the day!  What a difference, and our luggage was awaiting us when we arrived!  In the middle of our hike, we realized we'd left some earrings at Yunominesou that we had purchased earlier.  No problem!  Mr. Yano contacted us at the next minshuku in Nacho-San and when he learned of our imminent departure back to the US he said he'd mail them back to us in the US!  Although we don't generally need or expect this kind of high-touch service, it was sure nice to have!  Thanks, Mr. Yano, for going above and beyond to make our stay so special and leave us particularly fond memories.

Very goog transitional Japanese onsen experience. Staff said good English, comfortable room with great view to the outside.  Dinner super tasty.

Private onsen is very nice. The food is also great.

This was a fantastic onsen hotel!! The staff was extremely helpful in arranging our logistics for walking on the Kumano Kodo trail. The hotel itself was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. The outdoor onsen (bath) was amazing. The kaiseki 11 course dinner was incrediible - delicious and lovely. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at while in Japan, but I think it was worth it. 💖💖💖💖💖

Great a Place!

Wonderful stay in Tanabe location.  Location was quiet and peaceful.  Onsen was superb, food excellent with varied menu which I enjoyed.  Recommend to anyone, particularly those that enjoy walking, hiking.

Great location in tanabe area

Stayed here for 3 nights while exploring region on my motorcycle. Was base for 3  pilgrimage hikes and could not ask for better spot.  Very quiet, relaxing and wonderful place to end full days at.  Planned 2 and extended for 3rd.  Very helpful staff, excellent food with varied menu.   The room was Japanese style and large.  The onsen was the best, outside bath was my favorite.  For those that need it, free wifi worked well.   Will be back in the fall.

Excellent Stay for visiting/exploring Tanabe area

The outdoor onsen is nice and large. The food was outstanding and nicely presented. Ping pong tables too! Easily accessible via the second bus stop in Yunomine Onsen. Seemed to be the final stop for a lot of hikers.

I paid about 26,000 yen for one night the 20th March for 2 people half board through booking.com.

I asked the tourist office at the bus stop across from Hongu Taisha to arrange pickup from Yunomine onsen,   intending to catch the bus there.By then it was 4:30pm.The ryokan sent a minivan to the Hongu Taisha bus stop to pick us up! They collected other people there too.When they are busy in the mornings they don't offer this service but they do offer a morning shuttle to Yunomine onsen.We caught a taxi to Hongu Taisha costing about 1600 yen in the morning for our onward bus to Shingu.There is only one taxi in the area so they recommended booking it the night before.It is a very steep, albeit short walk which we did not attempt from the nearest bus stop (Simoyunomine),  one stop away from Yunomine onsen. 

This is a large modern ryokan where you take your shoes off at the door and wear slippers on indoor carpeted floors.There was a kind warm welcome and the service was excellent; outstanding at meals.

The room was a large very well kept tatami room with a sitting area with 2 western chairs and table overlooking the river, hidden by trees,and misty  hills.There was a large cherry tree which wasn't in bloom yet.The room had a full bathroom as well as toilet but we used the showering facilities at the onsen.The two sides of the onsen are switched daily.By the time I went to the onsen it was dark.Unfortunately it was overcast so no stars but I enjoyed the outdoor onsen which was not too hot for me.

There are stairs to one level of guest rooms and the onsen and dining area and no lift.

The meals were particularly good, served with care in a large tatami dining room.We elected to have the regular option which included pork shabu shabu.(There are beef and seafood upgrade options, ordered in advance.The hotel will send details on receipt of your booking.) Our dinner was a feast.Each dish was carefully explained, by the server and on a printed menu card which included photographs.This is so thoughtful and I have kept it as a momento  of of a special meal.The service at dinner was at the hughest level of Japanese service.The breakfast was also good.

I had stayed the previous night at Hiri no Sato at Takahara  and liked this ryokan so much more. I wish that I had stayed two nights here!
