This hotel is within walking distance from JR Okayama train station. Staff was very helpful and they speak some English. Room was small but had all the facilities. Furniture is way out of date and no wifi anywhere in the hotel!

Good location

Everything about this hotel was reasonable except for the breakfast which did not look good enough for the price it charged. Stuff was friendly and rooms were clean. Carpet on the floor was worn and old. Wear slippers. The whole hotel looked out of date but was still pleasant to stay in.

I stayed here with a last minute Shinkansen/hotel package through JTB.  Small rooms, but clean, and unit bath (which I really don't like...but all the business hotels have them.) Thin walls..but I was quite tired and neighboring room occupants were quiet.  I was awakened by street noise at 3 a.m. but it was a Saturday night..so probably the noisiest night of the week.  Desk clerks were courteous.             Sunday morning I wanted to go to Korakuen (garden) before my appointment and knew the 10 a.m. check out wasn't going to work.  Desk clerk said there was a charge for an additional hour.  I returned, showered and got out at about 10:30.  The guy at the desk (different person than before) said it was close enough, and didn't charge me.  Just be aware of the 10 a.m. check out..and possible charge for late check out.
   Definitely the room had been redone not so long ago.  Walls were very clean.  Furniture..not sure but not awful.  In comparison to some places I stayed last week, there were ample electrical outlets...even on headboard of bed, making recharging easy. Not true everywhere I have found.
    Not for a romantic weekend.. But for a bed, cheap, not too far (10 min from Shinkansen exit), it works.  I didn't have breakfast included so can't comment.  When you check in, to the right of the counter, are many amenity items, so take what you need then. In the room is only razor and a not great tooth brush. (Shampoo and soap in dispensers.) There is a yukata ..so you don't need pajamas.  I don't think they have so many foreign guests..(when I walked in, they saw me and pulled out my reservation..not needing to ask my name) but they didn't seem bothered.  Probably many businesspeople on a limited budget.
   The next day I saw a place I would have liked to go to eat...casual yakitori ..and kushiyaki? If you don't want sushi or noodles --maybe this place would be good.  On the same street from the station ..continue walking away from the station, about three blocks..on the left near corner.  Casual Japanese style (eat and drink) for those who want some cooked food.  No guarantee, but it looked promising. 
  Okayama is a nice city --hope to visit again.
