The hotel is dated and for the same money there is much better down the street closer to the station. The street is not lit at all at night, and could be a serious concern for some travelers. The hotel desk man was creepy and not accommodating at all. I will never stay there again...after 1 night I moved onto another hotel.

Didn't like it at all

A belated review - we stayed October 2013). This hotel was hard to find and had to ask directions several times. It's not that far from the main road once you know where it is, and not too far to walk from the Station (we only had carry-on; takes about 15 mins slow walk if you know where you're going). There's also a tram on the main road which will get you to the Station in a stop or two. Staff were very friendly and contacted a Japanese friend of ours by phone as we didn't have Japanese mobile. The room was very small and very dated but had all the basic amenities and was clean. The rate was very good when we stayed there (it's more like a business hotel). Breakfast was included in the price and had a mix of Japanese and Western, tea, coffee, juice, etc - plenty of food!

Basic, dated, good price, great breakfast!

Located in a side street - while its not so easy to find, its quieter.  It's located reasonably near to the train station and walkable.  if driving, the hotel has parking in front which costs Y1000 per night but lots are limited.

Rooms are small and a bit dated and dimly lit.  Barely had space to move around but it was clean.

Could do with a makeover.

Good central location

Located about 10 minutes by foot from the station, not far from a restaurant district, this hotel is not as nice as you could read here... Rooms are rather small (twin is recommended over semi-double one), bathrooms are incredible tiny (all packed in less than 2 square meters !), and the overall impression was not that good - terrible smell of tobacco in the corridors (and also a little in the room) being the main problem - especially considering the rather high price (more than US$ 125).

lower end of business hotels

The price was good, the location was perfect (especially if you travel by train). The room was very small and not so beautiful but all what you need was there : good bed and clean bathroom! Animated streets with restaurant and bars are very near!
Okayama was just a night stop (we dis not visit the city) in our trip and we would definitly come back in this hotel. Before to leave, we could go in Kurashiki, a nice small town (10minutes from Okayama in train).
