Hotel Sun Valley Annex

I was traveled to Beppu for one night and stayed in this hotel or ryoken. This is a mix of Japanese Onsen ryoken and Western hotel. Accommodation plan come with Japanese Dinner and Buffet breakfast. Free parking is provided at the back of the hotel, which is very handy. The building has 12 floor and my room was on the 11 floor at the corner, which provided me stunning view of the Beppu bay. Just love it. Room was spacious, neat and tidy. Free wifi access was available to all guest. Beppu is famous for the Onsen, so onsen is a must here. Hotel guest can use the Onsen in this hotel and the sister hotel across the street. Both are indoor, sadly no outdoor. Onsen in this hotel is not as good as the one in next door. The onsen in this hotel is located at the 4th floor, where there was no view and water temperature was just right. Where the onsen in next door was located on the top fop floor, where you can have a good view of the Beppu Bay and had a much comfortable water temperature. Hotel guest will be charged each for 150 yen onsen tax, which is a standard tax in Japan. Foreigners may not be familiar with this tax. Dinner was kaiseki-ryōri, Japanese style with many little dishes and finished with rice. Breakfast was buffet style with ample choice in Western and Japanese food.
