This hostel is more like staying at a small bed and breakfast or so, and rather than get the hotel feel, you get that stay at home, local home feel. There are either 3 or 4 rooms at the most, but the price is awesome for what you get. The room itself is very nice, as well as the shower. The host, Francesca, acts more like a friend and host than anything. She is friendly, helpful, and just excellent. She really made our trip to Rome memorable! Francesca provided a small breakfast every morning of some fruits, bread, toast, coffee, cookies and prepackaged pastries or croissants that you can fix yourself in the kitchen in the morning or when you like. Again, I really felt at home knowing I could go into the kitchen when we like and this place feels like staying at someones apartment really. Upon arrival, we entered the building where the hostel is located. The building is a typical residence area of Rome and at first you feel like you are entering a Romans apartment. She provided us with a map with so much information and recommendations that even with 4 days we had more to see. She also provided us her private contact on whats app so we could text her whenever we wanted and she always replied within seconds. For example, we forgot the name of a restaurant she recommended and texted her. She replied with seconds and explained the name and where it was. Awesome! It's also good to know that the location is about 5 minutes from the Colosseum and Roman forum, and also close to the metro. We realized most of the time when we took the metro out to a location, that we could just walk back because we would walk so far and find out that our hostel was only a 15 minute walk. Now, there were some minor issued with our stay but nothing that wouldn't keep me from coming back. First, our AC did not always work. Sometimes we would leave it on and come back after a hot walk in the sun and it would just be blowing normal air. Or we would wake up with it blowing normal air or vice versa. Sometimes we left it on going to sleep hoping it would blow cold air and boy did it. So, it didnt always work but it usually did and once the rooms has been cooled for a while, itll stay that way for some time. Whenever it didn't work we would just rinse off in our nice shower to cool off after our hot days in the July sun. Another problem was that the pipe to the sink was leaking every time you ran water. We placed a cup under it and basically tried to not use it often. These flaws aside, we loved out stay. The room and your private bathroom are cozy, comfortable, clean, and a great sanctuary to break in during your adventure in Rome. Francesca was a great host and we will never forget her hospitality and look forward to coming back.
