Genoa is surprisingly poor at cheap hotels. These rooms were the cheapest when I was booking. The owner (or representative of the owners) is a Polish lady who speaks no English. Almost. I had to use my poor Italian. The apartment looks like rooms in Italian films of the neo-realist era. The photos of not Sophia Loren and Claudia Cardinale hung on the walls but Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot. Very clean. The Breakfast is acceptable. Luggage can be collected during the day, leaving the keys. The only drawback - in January cold at night. Very cold. This is a big problem in Italy and Spain when you`re traveling in winter.

Not so far from the station.

I stayed only one night here on my way to Rome from Nice. It was very hard to find out this hotel though it was very near to Genoa (Gonova) Brignole station.10 minutes walking or by bus number 33 or 20 .This holel is situated inan old builing an a portionof a big family house is converted into hotel. The family operates the hotel and lives in the same place. The room was clean though it was congested. Well decorated though no A/C was there. Toilet and bathroom were shared and situated outside of the room. The breakfast served in the room: only a small cup of black coffee and a small piece of cream-croissant.
