Maisons Du Lac

We stopped for two nights at Maison du Lac on the shore of Lake Garda. Our two bed apartment was on the third floor which gave us great views of the lake and across to the mountains beyond. Everything in the apartment was stylish, modern, well finished and spotlessly clean. We loved the real sense of light from the floor to ceiling Windows. The Windows either tilted inwards our opened as doors so you could have a really good look around the town and beyond. Flavia was such a lovely friendly hostess, made us feel really welcome and gave us advice on local amenities such as, transport by ferry or train and parking before market day. This lovely picturesque peaceful town with excellent transport links by boat and train. Tuesday is market day, the largest on Lake Garda, we went to bed Monday night, the Main Street and car park we quiet and empty, awoke Tuesday morning to discover 100's of stalls silently set up right below our window!! The amazing smell of food and cooking, roasted chicken, hams, bread, local farm produce and huge Parmesan wheels. A real treat.
