Strongly recommend a stay at Southern Sun Bed and Breakfast. Warm welcome from Breda and family. Lovely room, clean bathroom and facilities were great. Walking distance from town and in a quiet spot. Free wifi.

Pleasant Stay - Great Owner

We stayed here in September while hiking. This B&B is a longer walk from town but was fine. Needed to catch the bus the next morning and we were able to walk right out front and wave them down as they pass. The WiFi worked great. The couch in the livingroom was a nice place to relax after hiking around for 3 weeks. The bedroom was clean. Was a little stumped on how to use the shower as there was a cord you had to pull to turn the water on first from the ceiling. They could use some new towels too but otherwise the room and bathroom were fine. We had a quick bowl of cereal in the morning as the bus goes by early. Was a nice place to stay in Cahersiveen! The owner was very friendly. Thank You

Pleasant Stay

I stayed in the Southern Sun B&B for one night while doing The Kerry Way trekking.  Breda is a superb host and welcomed me very friendly when I came in very wet after a hike in very rainy weather.  She immediately took my wet clothes and boots to dry them in her boiler room.  Breda did everything right.  She provided information, recommended a good restaurant in town and even gave me a sandwich for lunch the next day!  
The only reason I give four out of five stars is because of minor little things: the wifi could've worked better, the room could do with a make-over and the B&B is a little outside of town center... but these are just very minor things.  I highly recommend staying here when doing the Kerry Way trekking as Breda is the best host you can get.

This b&b is Breda's home who is the perfect host mum a hiker along the Kerry way could meet. She is very helpful and kind: in the morning she offered me a lift to a strategic point to start the Kerry way and this turned to be vital since the stage from Cahersiveen to Waterville is really tough! 
The room was spacious and comfortable. 

Cozy and familiar

We got to the B&B and bit early and the owner was not there.  One of the guests contacted her and she explained to him which room was ours and told us to settle in.  It was wonderful as we were very tired from hiking and we were cold.  The owner was great in drying our wet boots and clothing.  She also recommended places for us to go in town that evening.  Breakfast was very good.  All in all we had a very nice stay here.

Great Owner - Lovely Inn

Spent one night here during Kerry Way hike as prearranged by hiking provider.  The bed (mattress) was not comfortable.  The ensuite bathroom was very small and in need of modernization. Threadbare towels need to be replaced.  No shower gel, shampoo, etc.

Breakfast was good. 

If you are hiking the Kerry Way be advised that it is a long walk from the trail to the B&B along a very busy roadway.
