Stay with Hotel Shanti Inn was great,, Wonderful hospitality by the team,, 10/10 to services and accomodation 👍 Easy to access and nearby to river front is a perfect addition to the Property.. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Value for Money with Ambience and easy connectivity 

We stayed in Varnasi for 9 days with our family. They had a very good customer care. The hotel is inside the street but close to the ghats and away from the sound pollution. The atmosphere surrounded by the hotel wax always very serene. The hotel was close to many important and old temples.

We went to Varnasi with family and we enjoyed our stay in hotel Shanti Inn. They were very accommodative with our needs.

Very near to all the ghats ,excellent river view from roof top ,staffs are really helpfull and arranged our every needs and rooms are clean .They provided car for our Allahabad tour as well which we enjoyed a lot.

A pleasant stay ,though need to improve food options .

It is really shocking to find Hotel Shanti Inn Varanasi in Trip Advisor.  After staying for a day in November 2022 in that hotel, I definitely feel the location, ambience and the unhygienic surroundings of the hotel do not deserve a place in Trip Advisor.  The hotel is not on the main road and you need to walk about a km through the unhygienic lanes to reach the hotel. You may lose your way in the labyrinth of lanes.  The river bank is infested by mosquitoes and insects and is definitely more visible post sunset. The front entrance of the hotel is also unattractive. Also when we wanted to check out after a day's unsatisfying stay, the owner demanded charges for the entire week (We had paid him advance of Rs 7,500 for a likely stay of a week) and threatened with dire consequences if we don't pay up. Ultimately we managed to walk out after a day. There are far better hotels nearby.

HORRIBLE HOTEL

Nice place to stay, the staff is very good. The room is clean. The cafe on the roof is a nice experience you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the cafe. The view of the ghats and Holly Ganga is very pleasant from the cafe.

Hotel management & staff try their best to help Guests.However overall the hotel's location is not friendly for SENIOR CITIZENS.The beds are not comfortable for couples as one has to use only one side to get ON/OFF the bed in room no 203.The staff should be given some professional training. Our booking in a hotel did not work out.  Google helped with nearby hotels and contacted Hotel Shanti Inn after 10pm and asked for a room.  They assured us of all help and came within 5 minutes to where we were, carried our bags and took us to the hotel.  Their enthusiasm rang some warning bells and were worried a bit.  It was needless, as the property was pretty good - recently renovated, clean and hygenic.   Hotel has rooms in the ground and first floor, we were shown a few rooms and a couple of them with Ganga river views.  

It was peak summer – 110F+ in day and 100F even at 10pm.  We were warned by locals about frequent power cuts. So we opted for a ground floor room as it was comparatively less hot. 

We stayed 4 nights. The entire team right from the owner, the manager and the room service/cleaning people were helpful.  Scorching summer had caused power outages in the city.  The room lighting had power back up but not the AC.  Thankfully the outages were short duration and did not affect us much.   
The AC installed in the room was heavy duty and quickly cooled the room.  The bath room was very clean, well maintained.  Mattress (king size) was comfortable and the right hardness/softness.  Sheets a bit worn, but very clean. Towels were good.  Wifi was available in the room and worked well. No toiletries or mineral water (free only on first day) provided.  Luggage storage space was small, so was the table.  These are in keeping with the room and price point we opted for.

Some may consider this a downside – the hotel is located in one of the narrow lanes for which Varanasi is famous for!  It is just about 5-10 min walk to where cars will drop you off.  Hotel arranges for your luggage to be carried to that point, so no worry.  The lanes have some quaint houses, so walking through these is interesting.  You do have to be prepared to share space with cows!

They have a roof-top restaurant very lovely views of the river Ganga.  They also provide room service.  Their Aloo parathas were very tasty and the masala tea was good. You need to order food in advance. 
The Hanuman Ghat and Shivala Ghat, Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Dwaraka Sharada Mutt are close by.  Restaurants, shops are plenty in the area.  Overall a good place to stay, if you are looking if you need to be in this area.

Renovated recently, decent stay

The room was dirty though pretty expensive but the worst part was getting abruptly quicked out after our first night there with no further explanation (we had booked for 5 nights). 
We had to urgently look for a new hostel. After further information - thanks to an Indian friend - we learned that the manager was spreading the rumor that we (2 French girls in India to study) were begging for money in Varanasi streets (??!!) Save yourself the trouble of meeting  this insane man!

Creepy place and hostile manager 

We are in Shanthi the third time. The rooms are frugal, but the view from the roof platform is spectacular. The best are the people working in this rest house, especially Jaghu. Without him Shanti won't be as charming as it is. You may not be exigent, then you will love it. Thomas & Mia
