As a British female travelling around India I have stayed in many different types of hotel and home stay...therefore I have seen the difference in quality on a wide scale and I loved this place !
The beautiful Kerala style boats are stationary and carved wood makes them very beautiful indeed! The staff here are all very friendly and always bringing hot and delicious Kava tea / asking if we need anything.
Manzoor was great to converse with and also sold us some beautiful cashmere scarfs at good pricing.
Majeed, our shikara driver, took us to the floating market at 5am and was also great to talk to and learn about Kashmir culture. We booked 1 night through OYO but ended up staying longer because we enjoyed it so much. We stayed in the small boat as it’s better for couples but the interior of the bigger boats were much more beautiful. 
Will deffo recommend anyone to come here.

One Visit/Stay in a Kashmir Houseboat is a must in a lifetime!

I stayed there for one night in moth of April 2018. Rooms were specious, clean and well decorated. Even bathrooms are in good condition. The boat had 4 double-bed rooms plus one living room and a dining room. They served diner and breakfast which was included in the package. Food quality was good. A nice place to stay. 

Well maintained Houseboat

We are a family of 4, and we stayed here recently for a night. Both stay and food they offered were good. Room heater could not be provided here due to safety regulations. But, electric blankets kept us warm. Staff was helpful and friendly too. View of Dal Lake and surrounding mountains from this house boat entrance was really good.

My Experience with the houseboat was not at all pleasant

House boat was ok , Food Quality was also ok and Care taker Mr Bilal was rude.

It was winter time and we had booking for 2 deluxe room.

We had to request him multiple time to burn/ignite the Bukhari (heater) as
my parents were shivering due to cold.

Also i requested him to arrange the food for my parents inside room due to cold as they were finding difficult to come out of room. But care taker was reluctant to do it and he was saying that utensils would double up to wash so he wont do it.

In the end , we had to ready the plate and ask him to give them in the room.

Overall it was not worth the visit the houseboat.

Also he did not give us the soap and shampoo to take bath. Heater contain the water sufficient enough to take bath for only one person.

Overall , Deluxe boat was for name sake. It was not a good experience for us.
