Sukha's place is a charming hotel, with a wonderful green garden. 
The restaurant serve delicious local, Israeli as well as continental food.
Welcoming and helpful staff, specially Sukha who have such a nice experience on hosting people from all over the world.

My daughter was staying here and needed to get to an airport because of this crazy world we are in.  The owner went out of his way to help arrange a reliable and safe ride to the Delhi airport. I cannot thank him enough !

I am very grateful for his assistance, and it is great to know that there are still good people in this world.

This is definitely a low budget hostel but I am far from a luxurious traveler so I felt quite comfortable here. My friend and I came for Holi. We booked in advance online. I’ve read reviews where they lost the booking and the same thing happened to us. They had no record of our booking but still had a room available for us. So make sure you call in advance to inform them of your stay. The room was quite comfortable for my standards and there was a ceiling fan which did a good enough job for AC. The atmosphere of the entire place is relaxing. The staff is quite friendly. Though they work on their own time table. Don’t expect to be waited on immediately or to have them kiss the ground you walk on. Come in, sit down, enjoy the atmosphere, and they will come to you in time. The food is good. It takes some time to get it but it’s fresh, tasty, and a good price.

My friend and I had only planned on staying one night but the next day my friend fell ill. We asked them if we could keep the room an extra day. They had already booked it out but were able to get us in another hostel nearby at the same rate. 

These are good people. The rates are heavily inflated for Holi but that’s to be expected anywhere you go. They are not trying to take advantage of you, they are trying to make a living. I will certainly come back next time I come through Pushkar.

I know Sukha's place since 2013 and I can see how it improve!!! The rooms are nice, looking on the outside balcony on the fields. Quiet place. Very nice food! Sukha is a very nice and kind host, it took a good care of my group and organize a trip outside in his new place in the desert. I will definitely recommend this place.

I came to pushkar a few days befor the holi festival. 
The price of my room was nice, concidering the fact that in this time everything is more expensive.
The room was nice, sukha was very wellcoming and ther was a realy good vibe withe both the staff abd the other gests.
The locatian of the gusthose (15 min. Wallk from the main market) halpped me to get away from the parties in the streets and rest in the midlle of the fastival

Holi in sukha's place

In short, while my friends and I found Sukha's Place serviceable as a no-frills backpacker hostel, our lasting impression of the place was that is ultimately a scam, run by a mean-spirited and dishonest manager.

We made a booking for five deluxe huts, which were listed online as en suite with air conditioning, hot tub, etc. Upon arrival, not only did we find out that our booking was missing (despite us ringing ahead for confirmation), the actual accommodation didn't even exist. We instead ended up booking three basic rooms in Sukha's hostel on the night to share between us, since it was already quite late. The stay itself was flawed, but fine - the fellow travellers and Sukha's staff were friendly, the rooms were decent from a budget hotel standpoint (despite the lack of air con and er, hot tub), and the food and communal area were good. 

On checking out, we were charged for the original booking of the (non-existent) five rooms, and were met with hostility from Sukha when we attempted to reason with him, who outright threatened to call the police, telling us he would end our travels . We paid ultimately Sukha's bill, which by the way, consisted of three seemingly random numbers that didn't even add to the total, which itself was inflated above the price originally quoted to us. Furthermore, Sukha's behaviour was deplorable during our stay there - he was rude to his staff (and our driver), and displayed a somewhat lecherous attitude towards the female travellers at the hostel whilst we were spending time in the hotel's communal area. 

In sum, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.

Extremely unprofessional!!

Arrived in Pushkar for Holi, prebooked a reservation and when I arrived to Sukha's Place, he had given away our room. We had prepayed, so he managed to get us a room at some run down hotel down the road. Though the room was very dumpy, and it didn't have a proper bathroom, just some tiled little closet with only one small tap you could use to sponge bathe yourself, with a giant cockroach living in there. The only toilets available were dirty communal squat toilets, which my friend attempted to use but gave up from the fear of it. In the end Pushkar is very booked up so we had to take what we could. The next day Sukha tried to charge us about double what we paid the night before. It was so rediculous we ended up leaving Pushkar during Holi back to Ajmer, as we could get a nice hotel for not very much more. Hotels seem to take advantage of Holi as a way to rip off tourists. Other travellers had said they booked in advance as well at another hotel and their room was given away. It's a shame, as Pushkar is nice but seems like a place where they try to take advantage of you as a foreigner for services and products that are not of a quality worth paying. I read Holi is about a festival of spreading love, I guess not when you are a foreigner. Ruins the experience of a holy place. Sukha's place was an example of this.
