We had booked our room on Expedia and paid in full and when we arrived at the property, they told us that they had never gotten paid from Expedia and that We would have to pay out-of-pocket for another room. I asked if they would honor the same price and they said yes, but the room that we had booked did not have air condition And we would have to pay double the price for a room with air condition. We originally booked a room with air condition as per Expedia website. So basically they are running a scam at this hotel saying that they didn’t receive money from Expedia and you have to pay out-of-pocket and they only accept cash so There is no paper trail. So we had to use all of our rupees that we had or not get a room. They tell you that you have to upgrade to a deluxe room to have air condition when you don’t. The upgraded room was air conditioned however the bathroom was not. There was an open screen window and it was so hot that we had to keep the bathroom door closed. There are ants crawling on the floors because of the gap under the door. The spray hose in the bathroom leaks and when you leave your room you have to dead bolt it from the outside and secure it with a padlock!! It’s sad that in such a great location the hotel takes advantage of tourists. Would not recommend hotel sheela!! DON’T STAY HERE!!!

Pros: Very close to Taj Mahal. Like 5 min walk.Nice internal garden.Cons: Amenities are outdated.Other: the price is fair

We had a booking for 2 nights confirmed by booking.com
We additionally confirmed it with the hotel by phone the day before. 
En route to the hotel our train was delayed so we called the hotel to advise of this. 
We were told not to worry.
Upon arrival (& despite being shown our booking.com confirmation) the hotel told us they didn’t have a room for us. 
We relocated to approx 800m away at another hotel. 
Pretty poor really.

Staying in hotel sheel was not worthwhile. The feeling of deluxe accomodation was not there. Although the staff was very nice and well behaved but something was missing which they can improve with investing some money on the renovation. Overall it was a fair experience. 

Fair deal

Best things that its location just walking distance from taj Mahal. Hotel is quite old and its need renovation. Tap has water leakage. Staff were good in talking. Food was also worth of money. There is no lift facility 

Average hotel

Be careful. Hotel sheela does not refund any amount paid in advance for room booking. We lost the entire amount. They simply said it will be adjusted if you visit within an year. If NOT then the advance amount is forfeited.  Total loss.

Rooms were not as advertised! Only the 'deluxe' ones are pictured and we certainly were not in any deluxe room. It was cold and bare. The beds felt damp and the pillows were filthy, some had what appeared to be blood spots on them. No hot water in any of the four rooms we booked. Staff were nice enough, location good,  and the food ok but we were not treated fairly, their advert is misleading in that the rooms look gorgeous but are not in reality. Poor lighting around the complex so that trip hazards could not be seen in the dark, one of which was at the top of a set of steps.

Just don't!

The hotel provide comfortable rooms with AC. The restaurant serve typical Indian food, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The staff is nice and friendly. I recommend this place ! I just the perfect spot to visit Taj Mahal.

Very nice place close to Taj Mahal.

We booked for one night, room was dark, damp and dirty! We have been trekking in basic tea houses before coming here and they were much better.  Suffice to say we didn't stay here, we checked in to another hotel. You have to carry your luggage from the checkpoint as no cars are allowed through. 
Only positive is that it is very close to Taj Mahal.

Don't bother

Location is the best, just beside of Taj Mahal! Rooms could be bettet, but for a night and for me is enought, also for the price. The staff are super kind and helpful!
The place is quite and very nice! Definetly I will come back!
Staff: maybe the rooms could be more clean.
