I got stuck on the island during a crazy gale and my phone broke. The last thing I did was look up this guest house, so I went there and called the owner. She worked with me to get my phone back in action and then I booked. The place was perfect, exactly what I needed, and the owners couldn't have been more helpful! There's more I could say but really, this place was amazing. 

Will totally recommend this place to anybody visiting iceland or the westmans. 

Also, they made a nice book in the living room that explained a lot about the island and Iceland in general. Very nice.

Literally saved my life

We had a wonderful one night stay at Guesthouse Hlidaras. The guesthouse is clean, tidy and well equipped with a lovely communal kitchen and washing and drying facilities. As mentioned previously the guesthouse only has a bath, however there is a handheld shower attached to the tap which worked perfectly for us. You also get given free tickets to the swimming pool where you can you shower there after your swim if you wish. The location is great as it's just a few minutes walk from the town centre and 2 supermarkets.

Great Value for Money

this island was worth a visit! the home was basic - the rooms not large - but they were adequate. the kitchen was pleasant and well equiped. the hosts were helpful in giving information on sightseeing. there is a guidebook that they left in the livingroom and a map of the sights at the entrance. the washingmachine was a plus.

A nice, well-equipped house with everything necessary. Good heating. 
There is a shared bathroom and kitchen for all guests (there are 5 rooms in the house). 
All cooking utensils, tea, etc. is available in the kitchen so you can cook your own meals.
The owner is very friendly and helpful, gave us lots of great advice. 
Certainly recommended for anyone willing to visit the island.

Nice place to stay

We were a little disappointed by the rooms, which were not as advertised or requested. We were given two single rooms instead of two doubles. The reception given by the host was also rather cold and unwelcoming. We won't be coming back here.
