We were to late for check in but it was not a big problem and we still were welcomed :D The place is newly refurnished and there is everything that we needed. Guesthouse has 3 bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen. It's about 100 meters from most of the shops, bars and attractions of Akureyri. 

A great place to relax while you stay in Akureyri. The familyroom is big and spacious. The house on Brekkugata is so close to the downtown. The breakfast (pay extra) is well worth it and very good. I recommend this for friends, couple and families.

As we arrived already around 8 pm. Press the intercom and the owner of the house come attend in about 10 minutes. He not stay at this unit. there are many rooms down and upstair. We stayes at up stair. The kitchen was good and we can cook for our dinner. Breakfast not avaiable but you can make coffee and tea. 

The place is clean, rooms are good with nice view to the mountains, there's is a kitchen for personal use and public dining room.
Wifi has no reception what so ever in our rooms. 
Breakfast was not served but placed in a basket in the refrigerator, was not so good..

A cozy and pretty hostel

This  is a centrally located “guesthouse” with the amenities and service of a lesser hostel. I made a booking in April and my booking was confirmed, at a good price. When we arrived in late June, there was no booking, according to the off site receptionist, who then proceeded to book us a room at a so-called discount, which was much more than the original quote. We were cast into a dungeon, with no windows, a very hot, cramped space for five people. My children liked the fact that the room was dark, since it helped them sleep in the constant daylight of Northern Iceland summers, but it was so dark and cramped, we couldn’t find all our travel paraphernalia when we left early in the morning. Free public Parking during work days is not available. Kitchen was adequate only. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. 

Moderation is good, except in hotels

This B&B is more of a "do-it-yourself" living close to a hostel approach. Some rooms have their own shower and WC, others share. We had a room with shower and WC. A nice room if somewhat tight to move around in. WAter kettle in the room with tea. Upstairs are the common room with TV and a nice kitchen. Breakfast can be ordered against a fee, but there is a big fridge where you can store your own breakfast if you like. Otherwise, it is more hostel rules that apply when it comes to the kitchen - clean up after yourself, wash dishes and such. Parking on the street is free after 1600 (if i remember correctly) until 0800. If you find yourself on the bottom floor, there is a big parking lot right outside that, in that case, provides better parking. Very thin floors and walls if you stay in the room with shower and WC ensuite. The common room is straight above you so people speaking and clomping around up there will be clearly heard. VEry central in town, just a few 100 meters from the main streets with all the restaurants.

Good location

Lovely place five minutes far from city center and bus station. 
Pros: Well communication. Supermarket near. Kitchen and dinning room available. Quiet surroundings. 
Against: There is no reception for any inquiries and you have to phone.

Next to city center

Well in its favour is that it is literally just a few yards from the town centre's main street and the rooms are large. It also has a very good kitchen. The problems that it has are: you can't park outside the hotel until later in the day due to on-street parking restrictions; the double bed was the smallest one we experienced on our trip in Iceland; if you take a breakfast it is delivered in a basket the night before (this can be a positive if you're leaving  very early). In our opinion it needs updating as it is starting to look a bit tired. Note that you have to ring a phone number to be met to be  let in - good idea is to ring and then to go and get a coffee and meet at a set time,saves waiting outside the door.
