Stayed for one night in March.
Great location and staff very friendly. Very competitive prices and good atmosphere. 
I was traveling solo and really appreciated their concept of "free diner", where people gather around a table to share a meal. 
Although I do recommend this hostel for many reasons, some refurbishment need to be done. Toilets / shower areas need to be cleaned thoroughly and more frequent with strong disinfectant / bleach.
Very accommodating staff, great place to stay.
As a kind feedback - deposit for towels should be requested upon check-in. I had the feeling that I could leave the hostel with my rented towel, as upon check-out, no-one asked for it.

Great Hostel, some areas to be improved

Here’s the hostel you need for Budapest😊I really enjoyed my stay there. Beds are comfy, the atmosphere is really nice and most important: the staff is awesome!! Also It’s located close to the tram/bus station and to main attraction. If you’re travelling alone it’s easy to meet people, lots of activities are organized 🙋🏼‍♀️

Perfect hostel🥳

I came to a hostel but I found a family. Efraim, Mauro, Tina, Agus and the rest of the staff made our experience super special! Free cool dinners, activities, great atmosphera, a super location and a big heart are just of some things that means an unforgettable hostel. 100% recommended!!!

Amaaaazing hostel!!!!

The hostel was pretty average. I liked the private bathrooms and the rooms were clean. It was in a good location. I was however upset that housekeeping stole my sweater that was hanging on the hook in the bedroom. (There were no other guests in the room at the time). And somehow it couldn't be tracked down. It's also definitely a party hostel. 

It was okay. 

This hostel is great for partying. It's centrally located, staff go out of their way to welcome you, free communal dinner helps to get to know people and there's lots of young solo travelers. Especially recommended for solo girls. The building itself is old and there's been construction going on for a year (the noise from the construction starts in the morning), but the location feels very safe even at night. That said, I found it hard to sleep due to the constant smell of vomit in the dorm room. A fellow roommate said he had difficulty sleeping due to the air quality too. So open a window before you go out or go to sleep. I believe there's a party-centered activity going on every night (karaoke, party bus, going to ruin bars/disco's), but even if you don't join the organized activity, it's very easy to meet people here to go out with.

Great for partying, bad for sleeping

This is my new favorite hostel. Great staff that went above and beyond. Perfect location, right across the street from the party area (Budapest Eye, bars, street vendors, every tourist group). Impeccably clean, great beds and rooms, so that even in a 14-Bed Dorm, I didn't feel cramped. Great social atmosphere and hostel organized activities and free group dinners every night. Highly recommend, and I'll be seeking out other Hostel One locations as I travel now.

The Perfect Hostel

I will try to be as specific as possible for you to have an idea how this place is like. With a dreamed emplacement and a beautiful view this place is close to pretty much everything you want to see in Budapest. I came for one night and ended up staying four and if I could I would probably stay longer, the stuff is friendly, super super helpful and extremely fun, I loved every single person working here, the offer family dinner for free (is apparently a big tradition) and besides of being free is delicious and eating all together is just lovely, I couldn’t stop partying cause all the activities they have, made new friends from everywhere (mostly argentinians hehe I’m kidding ;) ) from everywhere...the hostel is clean, spacious and comfortable. All the facilities you could need and a lot a lot of love. Big thanks to all the people who make this place possible, hope to be back soon and longer. The internet is not really good on the rooms but really good on the common areas. Definitely recommended !!!

free dinner which made meeting all the other guests there

Ideal place to stay in budapest!

Hostel One Basilica is one of the best hostel I’ve been to. It might not be the most luxurious one but it had the best atmosphere (the point of a hostel). If you are looking to party, meet new people and have a good time, this is definitely the place. The staff, which you can consider as your friends, make each night a « family dinner » for everyone, followed by games and then we all go out together(we went twice to a nightclub and got in for free). There are also loads of free activities during the day, so you will never be bored. If you want to sleep, the rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable, the noise wasn’t a problem in my room (7). 
If you’re looking for a real party hostel experience, stop looking and stay here.

Loved it

Location was ideal and dinners were delicious. Staff were so welcoming!Nathan who we spent our last wild night doing shisha in a bathtub with. Also the many lap dances we witnessed during pizza box (never too many ;) ).
