We arrived in Santander from Oviedo by tourist coach. This is a charming city. This hotel sits on a high end housing estate which boasted one of the wealthiest Spanish man’s mansion next door - the owner of Bank Santander. The hotel is old but well refurbished, maintained & charming. Throughout the gardens, foyers, patios, lounge, restaurants, even the function rooms are pretty & photo worthy. With or without portraits of people included, its just awesome! 

At the main entrance of the lobby, there was this vintage elevator with a timber folding door, though tiny in the middle of the grand stairwell, it has been modernised & properly maintained you would not feel eerie riding in it (if you know what I mean)! 😁

Exquisite, good value, vintage & romantic hill top, sea view hotel built in 1917!

Arrived fairly late off a ferry but simple enough to find and ample parking. Lovely old style building. Staff could not have been more helpful, got asked so many times did I need assistance with luggage! Rooms old style too and antique furniture but bathroom top notch very modern. Has a spa but didn’t have time to try it out sadly. Worth a visit for breakfast alone, Buck’s Fizz anyone? Salmon, hot buffet, tonnes of pastries and fruit. Restaurant and cafe plus room service so no need to walk into town though only took 15 mins. If you partake of a few too many beverages down there get a taxi back up the hill! Kettle, minibar and nice toiletries supplied plus slippers. Second visit for us and not the last.

Just lacking a pool

For me this is the hotel with the best “ambiance” in Santander. I’m not saying the best hotel. I’m saying the best “ambiance”. A mixt of decadence, lux, comfort, history... I love the hotel. Moreover, it is close to the hiconic residence of Emilio Botín: il Promontorio. I love it I love it and I will return.

I would return anytime

This hotel might be considered if the best is Santander.
I stayed there twice.
It was closed some time for renovation and renewal.
The view is amazing to the bay of Santander.
Staff are very helpful.
Entrance has about 10 stairs to reach the lobby.
It is a royal place.

Elegant and genuine

I stay at this hotel every time I visit Pana, and will continue to do so. I always luck out and get a corner room, which is larger than the others. Not saying that the other rooms are bad, far from it, and some may prefer to be farther from the street noise. If that' she case, simply ask for a room in the back. I just enjoy the energy from Calle Santander below the corner rooms. They have tables and chairs outside of all the rooms. I find it nice to just sit outside, kick back and people watch. 
Things that are Important to me are safe, clean and secure. This hotel exceeds those requirements. Also the wifi is fast. I'm using it now without issues. Just came back from San Pedro and am staying here for one night until heading back to Antigua in the morning. Had my first very hot shower after a week, which was refreshing after taking cool or lukewarm suicide showers in San Pedro. The bathrooms are large and clean. Soap, shampoo and clean towels are complimentary.
It's in the middle of everything, the staff is helpful and the rooms bright and spotless. They let me check in early without a problem. I paid 200q for one person. I would've paid 250q without batting an eye.
