First off I will say that we have yet to stay here.  We booked on AirBnB and the pandemic of 2020 has forced us to cancel our plans.  We figured we would lose our deposit as we agreed to the non-refundable portion when we booked.  When I canceled Elvira, responded back within SECONDS!!! (not joking)  and offered us our full payment back.  This was very unexpected and very generous as I am sure the pandemic has hurt her income severely.  While we cannot comment on the actual place, let me tell you that just in my brief interactions working with Elvira as soon as travel is allowed again we WILL be sure to make sure to book here, when you find a good person with good customer service it is impossible to beat.

Elvira is a very generous host

Me and my friend came from Manchester and spend 4 beautiful night at the envision room and was LOVELY!! The room was cleaned in a daily basis and the bed sheets were changed every day. Elvira, the owner of the place was very helpful and made us feel like home. The view is beautiful and the room are in a very quite area. Fully recommended to everyone.

A dose of paradise

Amazing little apartment with an absolutely stunning view. Five minute walk to the centre of town, loved it here and would totally recommend it to solo travellers or couples. Ideal for sunsets and relaxing

Miss

We booked the place from airbnb for its views of the caldera and were not disappointed in this aspect though price is higher as it is still peak season.

Location wise, it is around 10-15 minutes (1.3km) slightly uphill walk from Fira Bus station. Need to then navigate many steps down to get to Sensyo. Definitely won’t recommend if you have many/heavy luggages.

Cleanliness is ok for us, no toiletries provided. There’s no AC and while there are fans, it does get warm in the room. Wifi is weaker near the bed area and there’s no TV, so talk to each other.

Last but not least, the blight of the experience was the communication. It was fine before the trip, with queries promptly answered. Subsequently:

-We got Elvira to help book us a pick up from the port. There was no one there upon arrival. While she answered my first 2 calls and contacted the transport company initially, no response/answering/checking in thereafter. We were pretty much left on our own during more than 1 hour’s wait under the afternoon sun. A coordinator on the ground finally told us they were not expecting us so no car to pick us.

-was told the pickup issue was a miscommunication. So, gave benefit of doubt and sought Elvira’s help to book the return trip to port. Again, there was no car at stipulated time & area. Messages and call to Elvira were unanswered. We had to figure out our way to the port ourselves after waiting 15 mins and could wait no longer as we had to catch our ferry.

In such situations, some help/responses from hosts would definitely have been appreciated.

Summary:
This place is ok if sole focus is the view. If looking for value or a more personable experience, good to check out other options.


Experience marred by communications

This is a beautiful little cave apartment with fantastic views over the caldera, perfect for couples.

The apartment is a few steps down from the restaurants and shops of Firostefani, on the caldera path that goes to Fira.

The steps mean it's not suitable for some, but if you're in reasonable shape it's not a problem.

Elvira is a very welcoming host and the bed is made and fresh towels supplied daily. Elvira will also provide beach towels on request.

The apartment is a long cave with a double bed, sofa and table, a kitchenette including kettle and coffee machine and a sink. The bathroom has a bath and shower with an amazing view of the caldera.

The patio area is perfect for sunbathing and not overlooked at all.

Elvira provided water, orange juice, coffee and a bottle of local nychteri wine which was very welcome.

The location in Firostefani is great - away from the crowds but within walking distance of Fira and on the main bus route to Oia.

Highly recommended.

Lovely little cave apartment - Airbnb

Our family of 4 (including 2 older teens) stayed here in early August. It was our favorite place to stay in all of Greece and one of our favorite places ever! The view is AMAZING and the patio was the best place to drink our morning coffee and sip tasty Greek wine with appetizers during sunset. The rooms are authentic cave rooms and they are spotless, comfy, and quiet. It is in the heart of Firostefani (close to excellent restaurants & small supermarkets) but only a 10 minute walk along the cliff top to Fira. The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook. There was enough space for all 4 of us. Our hostess was incredibly helpful with questions and arrangements and even welcomed us with OJ, coffee, water, and regional wine. I can't recommend this place more!!! We'd love to return someday.

Amazing

My girlfriend and I stayed in this beautiful cave for four nights in June 2016. The host was wonderful and greeted us on time after we booked an Airbnb. There was a coffee maker in the room which really helped with the morning and the beds are quite comfortable. If you need clean towels or sheets just email or text the host and they will be happy to help I definitely recommend renting ATVs so you can explore the island you really get to see the beauty of what Santorini has to offer.  You can easily wake up early and check out all the local beaches in one morning!! We had breakfast beers and eggs at Black beach after we had Red beach to ourselves !! The food is amazing eat as much as you can and eat at different places make sure you look at the menu before hand because some places are pretty expensive and you're paying for the view not the food trust me. Make sure you shop around when you look for ATVs because some places charge more than others and gas is fairly cheap too so don't worry about that there's great parking at this wonderful cave for your ATV. The views from this stunning porch are undescribable you need to see it to believe it. You can see the volcano directly in front of you and the hostess is so knowledgable about the history of all the islands.  I'm quite tall so the cave was a little small for me but I am 6'7" so every room is a little small for me to be honest. It was perfect height for my gf. Have a glass of wine of the porch and watch the sunset! You'll never see anything more beautiful. Enjoy Sensyo!!

Great stay in a cozy cave! Amazing view

I stayed in Sensyo late September and i can say that it was an amazing stay! the sea view is stunning, the accommodation was very comfortable and unique in a traditional small apartment as a cave. The terrace is shared in the 3 units, and only the top unit offers private terrace, but the view is just amazing. I recomend to all travellers that wish a unique stay in traditional cave suites.
