we have stayed here on numerous occasions and we have always treated like one of the family.lovely big swimming pool rooms are clean and tidy plenty to drink and eat in the bar. and all the family are exstreemley helpfull .

We spent two very relaxing weeks in early June, and, believe it or not, not much had changed at these apartments since we visited about 30 years ago.
I expected vast tourist development but after looking on Google Earth was able to confirm that these apartments had been unaffected.

Of course the village,  at a distance of maybe half a mile away, had changed, but I think possibly for the better as there are more opportunities for evening activities with many tavernas  now offering high standards.

The apartments have a basic charm, and the owners welcome you as family, just as they did 30 years ago. Charges are reasonable, and are commensurate with what you get. It doesn't matter that this is not 5 star accommodation because if you decide to go with the flow then you too will enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday around a superb  pool, and amongst other guest who return much more frequently than ourselves.
The beaches nearby have improved substantially, but there is little need to visit them for a swim with the apartment pool being so inviting.
Best to book direct, and although we did not use the service, we were offered free transfers to and from the airport. You can find contact details on line.

Utter peace!

Beautiful welcoming family with a beautiful hotel that can't be faulted. 
The pool is one of the nicest pools I've ever been in. Very relaxing place very close to the hustle and bustle if that's more your thing. Been many times and will continue to go.

The Venus Apartments are owned and managed by the Peraki family. As a family they are welcoming, helpful and cheerful.
The apartments are basic, but cleaned daily, fresh bed linen and towels and kitchenette. The air conditioning is a boon in the summer. There are some rooms close to the swimming pool, and others to the rear of the property. 
The large swimming pool is well maintained with plenty of sun beds etc. The pool is not suitable for young children. 
It is a short walk to the nearby village where there are plentiful tavernas and shops. And a taxi ride into Rethimnon is fairly priced.

Another great stay

Visited here with family, rented one room apartment for week. Place is bit far away from centrum, you need car to visit city centre. Accommodation is basic, room is old and bit used (for example lamp wiring was broken). Room has climate. Pool was big and clean. Only few visitors during July! Can recommend for budget traveller with car. Restaurant offers only snacks, no pizza even it is on list ;)
