We stayed at the Villa Christina near Nafplion in the first two weeks of May 2009.  When we arrived at Kalamata airport it was raining and as we drove the three hours across the mountains to get to Nafplion the weather turned greyer and greyer.  On arriving at Villa Christina we were met by our host who immediately turned on the central heating for us and showed us around his lovely 3 bedroomed villa.  He was proud of this, and rightly so.  Next day the sun came out, the heating went off and we dived in the lovely pool and realised we had struck gold - again.  The gardens surrounding the pool are lovingly tended and the 5 apartments are all cleaned thoroughly every day.   Every evening the lights come on the castle in Nafplion and you can sit on your balcony and watch Nafplion prepare for the evening.  Nafplion itself is a charming town with museums, a fabulous marble platia where you can feel as safe as houses as you watch the world go by, or join in.  The beach beyond the castle is stunning and offers something for everyone.   Attractions nearby are Nemea with its gorgeous ancient ruins and an excellent museum (with modern plumbed toilets too!) and Epidavrous and Myceanea and Tyrins and other excellent off the beaten track ancient sites that are frequently not mentioned in guide books or appear on maps.  Just follow the brown signs that litter the roadways around the Argolid and you will often find, like us, that you are the only people there and you can let your imagination run wild as you picture these stones and columns as they once were.  The Argolid has to be one of the best areas in Greece to explore and the Villa Christine is a very comfortable base to use.  Two weeks with a car and you can do it all - and still have time to swim and enjoy this superb area of Greece and enjoy all it has to offer.

Villa Christina offers peace and quiet in beautiful countryside

We have stayed here many times but have only now got around to writing a review - its a bit of a hidden gem. It is located in the village of Aghios Adrianos which is an easy 10 minute drive to Nafplion and yet you get the benefit of peace and quiet, a beautiful pool and better value for money (the centre of Nafplion has easy parking so it is no hassle staying outside). The apartment was simple but tastefully furnished and we had all we needed to have a comfortable stay, with the owners being very gracious and helpful hosts. Sitting on the balcony in the evening and watching the twinkling lights of the town and its castle is certainly one of life's great pleasures.

The attraction of Villa Christina is that it is in quiet countryside, with a beautiful view down to the coast at Nafplio.  The view at sunrise is stunning, and if you want tranquillity, this is the place for you.
There's also a really good pool with almost no insects or leaves in it !  If you want the beach, we recommend Tolo, which is about 15 minutes' drive away.
And the villas are well kept - they even do a mid-week change of sheets.
The disadvantages of this property are:
1) it's relatively remote - the village is small and there are no tavernas there at all !;
2) the beds have hard mattresses;
3) our studio was pretty small - no space in the bedroom to put suitcases; and the kitchenette had only a few utensils, so only fit for the most basic cookery.

Nice apartments, a bit remote

We visited the lovely Villa Christinas June 2012 and booked for two then added 4 more nights.
It's just kind of place, once you get there you want to stay. it sits on the hillside overlooking Nafplio (which is 10 minutes away by car) and the castle which is amazing when they light it at night. The owners are always around and tend to their property with great care. There are orange, lemon, apricot and grapes all over the property which is lit at night as well. It is also very private. If coming from Athens, it will be approx 2.5 - 3hour drive and I say... listen and follow the instructions exactly Antonios gives you to get to his villa and you'll get there no problem albeit there is several to follow. Antonious speaks English very well.
There are a few different apartment types; studio, one bedroom and even two bedroom. The rooms have all the neccessary things one would need to settle in. The bed linen was crisp and clean as was the whole apartment. 
The Pool is at huge and sparkling clean and it took alot to drag ourselves away to explore the area.
Lots to see and a great base for exploring this area. Day boat trips out of Tolo (15 minutes by car)to Hydra and Spetses. Lovely beaches and drives over the mountains to Epidavros and of course Nafplio a neat little city with lots of history. Antonios is there if you want advise on what to see and where to go as he grew up in the area as well.

He also owns the Karayiannis Villas further up on the hillside a fe km, which have indidvidual villas and pools and a lot of privacy from each villas, i was fortunate that he took me to see them. However, it I had stayed there I may not have left the pool to see the area.

Overall a great little place in the Nafplio area !

Perfect hidaway in the hills of Nafplio

My wife and I stayed at Villa Christina for 3 nights in April 2019.  The location is very isolated, resting outside the small village, which has a couple of very small shops, a pharmacy and little else.  Since the villa is self catering, provisions need to be bought prior to arrival.  

The villa has a car port which is very good for parking, as a car is essential.  The villa can accommodate 4, but as a couple, we found it just about adequate in size for our needs.  The viilla has a fridge, kettle and cooker, so preparing basic meals is ok, if thats your requirement.  

The views from the private balcony are amazing and this is the selling point of the location and Villa Christina, truly stunning.  Plenty of sunshine allows for a relaxing drink whilst taking in the view!  There is a good sized pool, but being April we did not avail ourselves of it.

If you like real isolation then this is for you, otherwise it becomes a bit of a endless slog going to and from the sights of the area, as well as into Nafplio.  

The owners grandson was staying whilst we were visiting, and as a father I know it can be difficult to keep young children quiet, but we were woken on 2 occasions and experienced a number of outbursts during our stay, so a holiday lie in was difficult to achieve.  

The owners were helpful and friendly.  

On arrival into the village, immediately adjacent to the Pharmacy there is a small blue sign directing you to Villa Christina.  Look out for it as it is not too easy to see.  As you drive along, there are identical signs leading you to the property at several turns and junctions.

If total isolation is your requirement, then Villa Christina could be for you, if not, i would continue to search for a more central location t ostay.

A Bit Too Isolated & Basic

Aged appartement offering requiring a solid renovation: very little water pressure, bathrooms dysfunctional (shower spitting/dripping in all directions except on straight), limited hot water, bad cleaning, aged and missing kitchen appliances, ...
On a positive note: great pool and pool area.

Great pool but the rest is severely disappointing and aged (urgent renovation and cleaning required)
