Fantastic immaculate clean studios, we have been coming to Georgioupolis on and off since 1987 and these are one of the best, it's not five star because it's not on the beach like alot of the big ones but we prefer this, it's more cosy and Greek, the people who own it are lovely, so helpful, I definitely in my opinion with give this five stars, lovely little touches, welcome pack, cleaning stuff etc. Beds great, WiFi great, cleaned regular, the cleanest place we have stayed in, will be back, love it,all the shops tavernas on your doorstep, lovely bakery as well, thank you to the owners for making our stay the best, 


Best in Georgioupolis 

We had come several years ago when the property was run by Sofia and it was really very good. The place was covered with flowers, Georges, Sofia's husband, offered us his grapes and, above all, it was very clean and very nice. We were extremely disappointed because it got worse. The new owner is very nice but the cleaning is no longer done every day; the garbage cans, which are small, are very quickly full which is unpleasant and unhealthy; there is not always hot water in the shower... In addition, you can no longer see the sea from the balconies with all the new constructions. Frankly, there is really better for the same price in Georgioupoli.

Avoid absolutely.

Sofias is central georgioupoli but tucked away from main rds and noisyness.  Fab bakers one end of lane and beach the other. Spotlessly cleaned daily, fresh linen n towels every 3 days, lovely little lush tiled n plant potted entrance, 11 out of 10!

Great location, excellent service

Stayed at Sofia Studios & Apartments for the last 2 weeks of September.Self catering is the only option here which suited us fine as we like to sample a different Taverna every night of our 14 night stay and in Georgioupolis ,there are so many that we didn't get to visit them all.
     Arrived quite late after a problem with our Jet2 plane at Manchester so worried there would be no one there but Nektaria had left directions to our room and the keys were in the door. Inside water and Raki had been left for us and sweets and snacks.The studios are spacious with all you need for our kind of holiday.We had requested a upper floor with bathtub and that is what we got. The balcony was South facing and got the sun from dawn to dusk, it had a table and chairs and a drying rack where we could dry our towels and beach stuff.
       Situated down a side alley off the road these apartments were lovely and quiet at night and only a 5 minute walk to the square where the bars and restaurants are and a similar distance to the beach which stretches for miles. There were many good beach bars if you walked a little way to the right offering 2 beds+umbrella for 6 euros with 2 free drinks(why lie on your towel),the sea was calm  gently sloping sands ,very safe and lifeguards on duty at regular intervals along the beach.
         There was plenty to do in Georgioupolis ,the little trains that you find in Crete will either take you on a day trip at a reasonable price or up to Lake Kournas where you can spend an enjoyable day.If you like walking,hop over the coast road and you are out in the olive groves and can wander around the country lanes for hours.
           Kostas and Nektaria were excellent hosts and everything was kept spotless.we were given a little going away present and even came out to show great concern when our transfer was late so i would have no hesitation in recommending Sofia studios and apartments for a stay in Georgioupolis.

September break in Georgioupolis

This was the first time in Georgioupolis for my husband and I, but it certainly won’t be the last.  It had everything we wanted from a holiday destination.  Wonderful accommodation (Sofia Studios and Apartments) that truly exceeded our expectations and many cafes (Stelios was great with good music and a lovely family as hosts),  tavernas (Georgia’s Home Cooking, Arolithos, Sunlight).

We had booked a one bedroom apartment to give us extra space as we were there for ten days.  It was exactly like the pictures on their website and was immaculate with lots of lovely extras.  There were two balconies (we had room 10), one off the bedroom on the small side street and a small, very private balcony from the kitchen/living area.  The small kitchen area was very well equipped should you wish to cook – pots, pans, coffee maker, kettle, cutlery etc., even a sandwich toaster!

On the table there were some sweets, coffee, tea, sugar, snacks and there was a bottle of water already in the fridge for us.  Even a bottle of home-made raki was waiting for us!  As we left we were given some more raki and a bottle of their own olive oil to take home with us, such a lovely touch.

The bedroom had 2 single beds (very comfortable we found) plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes and a dressing table with a very large mirror.  I could use the television socket a couple of foot away for electricals.  The balcony off this room was furnished and had a washing line with pegs.

The bathroom was large with a bath and shower, toiletries (body lotion, shampoo, body wash) and plenty of toilet paper.

The air conditioning was included in the room price (we barely used it as the apartment was lovely and cool in May) and there was free wifi, flat screen tv (not sure of channels as we didn’t use it) and the use of a safe for €10 per week.  The room was cleaned daily (except Sundays) and I lost count of how many times sheets and towels were changed.

The location was perfect, with a 3 minute walk to the beach one way and a 3 minute walk to the centre square the other way.

The people of Georgioupolis are very generous and where ever you eat or drink you get nuts, crisps or snacks and a dessert and raki after you eat!  We were even served complimentary pastries one morning along with our breakfast!

It is a 45 minute drive from the airport (€55 each way and Nektaria will book the taxis for you).

Please don’t hesitate to stay here, you won’t be disappointed and staying at these apartments will only enhance your holiday.

A lovely apartment with wonderful hosts in an ideal location.

Sofia's Apartments was recommended to us after a disappointing stay in one of the other Hotels.  And it has been one of the absolutely best stays we have had in Georgioupolis. We holiday here every summer and this apartment can not be faulted for it's level of cleanliness.  I think you just have to blink and the bed is made and you have fresh towels.  It's like having a genie.  You can tell the the owner is really putting a great deal of thought in the services the apartment comes with.  You have satellite TV, Free Wifi and Free Air conditioning. The balcony we had gets the sun for most of the day, great for drying beachwear after swimming, and both the beach and village centre are just a couple of minutes walk.  It really is a great place and we will be back many times to come.  BTW for laundry there is a smashing launderette just a short distance away that does a service wash for 12Euros (washed dried and ironed)

Lovely apartment, so clean Great owner.

We stayed in this accommodation and it was fabulous, so clean and welcoming, there was plenty of tea, sugar etc to make a hot drink, free WiFi, it is in a really good position down a small street and there is parking.
The owners were lovely and when we left we were given a bag of oregano and herbs for feta, a lovely touch.
We will definitely be back and can totally recommend it.

Brilliant accommodation

This family run studios are a great choice to spend your holidays at the beautiful village of Georgioupoli! The owners are very friendly and very helpfull. It's located at the center of The village.The rooms are very clean and quiet,as they are located in a small path, 2 minutes walk to the sea and the square! Nearby there are tavernas,cafeterias,souvenir shops,bakery shop just across the street,a doctor's office,and a big supper market at 40m. In the room you can find everything you need to prepare a breakfast or meal. They welcome you with a small bottle of raki,tee,sugar and coffee bags,caramels and small traditional cookies. Coffee machine with filters and a kettle are also provided. They also have an electric device for the mosquitos. You can also find small bottles of shampoo,boby lotion,shower gel and soaps in the bathroom.Flat screen tv with satellite channels and very good free WiFi. It also has safe box with extra charge. The air condition is free of charge. The room service is daily and sheets and towels changed regularly. Its also a good value of money which is very important,compare to the quality. They also give you a small souvenir as a thank you when you leave. It's a great place to stay!! I am defiantly recommend it!! You won't regret it!!
