The room was really comfortable with air con provided and hot water. Furthermore, the host, Angelo was a really sweet guy. He waited for us as our train arrived there at 11pm and gave us water and breakfast for a really good price. He is a sweet man and he is a good care taker. Taking care of us as if we were his children. 

Great location to stay while travelling to see the Meteora region and monasteries. We were travelling there with friends that recommended already the place and who were returning there. The staff is most welcoming, the room was comfortable and had a nice terrace. We departed quite early and had the hosts nicely prepare an early breakfast just for us. One great tavern to have dinner just next door as well as other taverns and shops in the immediate vicinity. Reservation possible without credit card. Cosy atmosphere, we felt like looking for shelter in an old times inn.

If you are a budget traveller then this place is recommended. If you are specific, picky and like all your needs met, then look away. Most of your time is (should be) spent looking at those breath-taking rock formations in Meteora, so even though the showers curtains didn't completely shield the water and made the floor a bit wet, I'm paying $33/night I remind myself; even though the small boxy tv didn't work, I was too tired from hiking with Mother Nature to want to watch Greek soap operas; wifi worked well. Everything was clean and tidy; decor is a little homey like going to your grandparent's home; it gave me a local feel. 

Situated quietly away between Kastraki and Kalambaka, but only a 10-15 minutes brisk walk to the town centre, encouraging you to stroll through the quaint areas; Syndey is at the base of Meteora, and is very close to the bus stop to the Great Meteora and others. Kastraki deserves a walk-through for its local life feel. 5 minutes and 4 euros to the train station; more if you call for a taxi at 5 am, 7 euros.

Owner was nice and helpful, he may seem laid-back but he can get things done when asked. Breakfast cost 5 euros, cheaper if you booked it in advance with your accommodation. It was a lot of food, nothing spectacular, but good enough for your morning hike, I even brought the extra apple I couldn't finish as a snack. Next door is a tavern, decently priced, offering almost all typical Greek food and some more. 

note: i was a solo female who has had backpacking/hostel experience; there isn't any hostels in Kalambaki or Kastraki. I felt safe day and night. Might get a bit dark on the roads walking from Kalambaka, but I was more concerned with reckless drivers than anything else.

I would come back!

SUMMARY
Pros:
View of Meteora literally right out back!
Family owned hotel and the staff is exceptionally helpful and accommodating
Wifi is good for browsing and road trip planning, but not for watching videos
Parking is easy and you can start your hike from the hotel if you're up for a good all day hike
Reasonable price at 30EUR/night

Cons:
You can only shower with hot water in the morning and it's not that great.
You're literally right on the main road so if you're a light sleeper, you'll probably get woken up during the night

OUR EXPERIENCE
We had originally booked our stay for one night on a Monday night, but were going to be a day late and they had no trouble moving us back a night. Once we got there, we decided to add on another night and had no issues. They also gave us great recommendations on where to hike and what to do so an A+ for hospitality.

The accommodations themselves were pretty average and the shower was a problem, especially at night because there was no hot water. We stayed on the side with the great views of Meteora which was great and horrible and the same time because we were right on the road that has vehicles driving past all throughout the night. Only used the wifi for Google Maps planning and researching the location since videos didn't load great. No worries though since we spent most of our time outside!

Great View of Meteora and Excellent Place to Start a Hike

It is clean, very close to the small town of Meteora and you can do some hikes right from the hotel.

The TV didn't work but we didn't mind.  The facilities were ok but nothing seemed to work: window broke (it got fixed), no toiletries, kind of rude owner.

We got locked at night, which we discovered by chance.
