A wonderful experience from start to finish. We've travelled from Scotland, not really knowing what to expect, and what we've found was a small piece of heaven. And to be honest I don't want to share this with you, because just like a treasure, I want to lock it away and keep it all for myself. But if I do, I wouldn't make it justice. The town of Pefki, although on the small side, is vibrant and energetic. It has a heart and soul, it's authentic and unspoiled. The locals are the most welcoming people, genuine and kind, and although they have business to run, you'll never feel like a customer, but more like their private guest. The only tiny barrier if you're an English only speaker unwilling to try alternative ways to communicate, is that the locals and the majority of the tourists are Greeks. Some may not say much in English, why would they? but you'll always get a Kalimera and a genuine smile that will warm up your day. And that suited us just fine. Pefki has a large but quiet unspoiled beach, with chairs and umbrellas free of charge if you order something to drink or eat, shops, boutiques, lively bars and chic tavernas. We have booked and stayed at Drosia Studios, recommended by a friend. Excellent choice as it is situated at the heart of all Pefki has to offer - 'across the street' distance to the beach and coral blue water, next to Kochili taverna which serves delicious Greek dishes, guaranteed to make you return for every meal, and within a minute walk from the lively bar Fygias. If you're lucky, in the evening, you can see Andre showing his best moves on the top of the bar table. Best entertainment! The room at Drosia came with balcony, and was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The garden area was particularly nice and relaxing and it's where we've got to meet the host a little better. Yiannis is not only welcoming and helpful, but he is genuinely friendly and interested to know his guests. He speaks great English so only approach if you have time for a hearty chat and laughter. Yiannis, you're brilliant, you've made our time in Pefki extra special and we are grateful for that. Sorry to say, but we will return 😂.
